The next MK should have either...1) 3d graphics with 2d gameplay (like Killer Instinct) with directional throwing, roundhouse kicks, weapon swings(left/right), to change your placement throughout the arena, basically loose side stepping, or... 2) keep things the way they are and give us the option of more camera angles (like fight night), because not everyone likes being plagued in 3d fighters with a constant side stepper swinging the camera round & round constantly... almost making you dizzy... also knowing you are permanently autofacing your opponent, when you should have freedom of movement (in a 3d environment) at your disposable for possible interactivity (wall jumps, head bashing, ragdoll physics - like shaolin monks)...is just a killer... know what I mean? So... to sum it all up... 1) Use the up to date 3d graphics & gameplay but bring back the goodness of the 2d plane (playing field) to please both the newcomers, veterans, & oldskoolers alike...since the game is all about the fighting right? or... 2) Keep it the way it is and give us the option of more camera angles... like fight night's - swing cam, powerstones cam, or sholin monks cam... to allow more freedom of movement and allow more environment activity. oh yeah! last thing i forgot to mention... 3) Add a team option weather it be (lifebar depletion or round change for character/player change - like mk4) i think it would work better than tagging or if it's like shaolin monks style of gameplay... a 4 player option + 3v1, 2v2 etc simultaneously you get the idea...
