I think they should try to make a MK at the time before MK1. like when goro became champion and was a regular playable character and all :P.

Well, i would love if mk 8's storyline took place 500 years ago, at the events of the Great Kung Lao's victory over Shang Tsung, and death by the hands of Goro. Maybe a game around Kung Lao himself, like.. being the main hero?

What about a game, wich was centered in the tournament in wich Shang Tsung was defeated by Kung Lao, (you get a happy ending) where they could use the idea that Outoworld had won 9 MK tournaments, and if Kung Lao had lost, Outworld had conquered Earthrealm (much like Liu Kang's MK1 story), and in the end, Kung Lao beats the hell out of Shang.

With this happy ending, the path to a sequel was open. The next game would be centered on Kung Lao's participation in the next MK tournament, and eventually dying in the hands of Goro (the final boss). This could add some expanding to the MK storyline mythologies, by adding some details about the great Kung Lao, or stories of the past. Also, this game would be pretty dark, and dirty / hard & down environmental MK. We would get a sad ending... and then, some reference to the era of darkness that the MK tournament fell into.

If Boon said that Scorpion and Sub-Zero are returning in MK8, there is no chance that this game will be 500 years in the past. If they're going that direction, then we'll probably see an ancestor of Sub-Zero from the Lin Kuei, but then where's Scorpion? No chacne in seeing an MK8 500 years in the past. Not trying to be someone in bringing down the mood but that's really what I feel.

I wouldn't want MK8 to be the prequel, there is still tons of life in the current story.

But way down the road, I think it's something they could easily make into an interesting game. It almost wouldn’t have worked with the past technology, but now they can go back to the basics with their designs, and still have them complex.

Yes, that is correct. But i posted that as an idea, and me being somewhat against non-canonity, also think that an MK game that would be set 500 years ago could not have Sub Zero (the excuse of an ancestor of Sub Zero, to have a warrior representing the legendary Mk character could work), but most importantly could NEVER have Scorpion.

That is one of the things i don't like about MK Conquest. The fact that Scorpion is in it, and has a crappy story. His story there is more like a poor excuse just to have his pretty face in the series. After all he is the most popular MK boy.

I wouldn't like MK8 to be a stupid Prequel. A prequel wouldn't happen cause it takes place after Armageddon. So it will be a sequel.
