lately as the games go on of course the graphics are going to get better with computer generated characters. but think back to the very first time you went to the arcade and saw the original mortal kombat. they used digitized images of REAL people. i know it would be nexxt to impossible to do this with new 3d games so please no smartass comment about how impractical it is. all im sayin is that it was so different form all the other games because the others were really cartoons. mk looked real, let alone the blood and vilence. maybe im not getting my point across clear enough but thats what made mk great to me and would like to see that again. your thoughts.

I hear ya... but nowadays, everyone likes 3-d...
Everything is 3-D now. The only way to stand out now is by having jaw dropping graphics. Like being able to see the sweat on the fighters and cuts, bumps, and ripped clothing. It's going to be hard to top some of the graphics in current games, but that doesn't mean the it can't be done. Mortal Kombat has always had it's own visual style. Just have to wait and see what the next gen MK will look like.

Mortal Kombat only digitized then characters because back then there was no 3D. When 3D came out, no one liked 2D, not even the Mortal Kombat crew. So bringing back digitized characters would be stupid and a waste.

Only like the other dipwads in this convo...I think your idea is brilliant...it would be kind odd at first but brilliant!
