Hahahaha the online for mk9 got pretty bad. The reason I stopped playing it. That and it's region locked.

At first I thought this was a great topic and the netcode NEEDS to be talked about. MK9 online is garbage and injustice isn't much better. It worries me a lil Boon and co. have not addressed this whatsoever.

But then OP had to go on to his troll routine for some deeply, soul crushingly sad lolz. Like is making everybody think you're a jackass really that funny for you? Aren't there other more rewarding hobbies?

this game could be WAY more popular if the online play was smooth. I know that costs money but still, in this day in age good online play is almost a necessity.

Bonus number one. No more gamespy. We really don't need any dedicated servers except maybe for koth. P2p will be fine for a fighter. No one is hosting the fight so no one has the advantage. It's a direct link to both players. Instead of both connecting to a server (think a triangle ????) the top of the triangle is S for server. Then there's A and B at the bottom left and right. Both players connect to the server and have the server send data back to them. That's gonna be a mess. Let's send data to S then have S send that data to B. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. So p2p or peer to peer is the optimal choice. No one hosts the fight, you both connect directly to each other.

Using ggpo would be a godsend here. That essentially removes the typical host and truly makes peer to peer a peer to peer connection. That's why there's no host. Games like 3rd strike and skullgirls use ggpo. Also having a rollback netcode would help, but..... Rollback netcodes haven't been done before on unreal 3/4 engine based games.

All that being said, I don't expect any of this to actually be in. Which is a shame. Let's just hope nrs finds a way to fix the experience.

I could easily play online with Tekken Tag 2, DOA5, Soul Calibur V but MK9 was a nightmare to play online, always disconnecting
