the four dlc characters pretty much crushed all hope i had for them making a return because we've pretty much gotten zero evidence so far that they will be in the game. my thing is, why tease us so much in the comics? its a shame we're stuck with all these lame ass generic special forces characters along with their lame ass family members(aside from Kung Lao and Kenshi). so many wasted character slots.
but yeah, i have a feeling that Reiko and havik wont make it out of the comic alive, or maybe they're plotting something bigger for the next MK game? hope im wrong though..

If Reiko dies I'll be utterly pissed off, but they killed off my favorite character in the last game and here she is in the next installment lol.
Fingers crossed Reiko makes it if there are additional DLCs planned. If not, gotta wait for MK11 I guess.

Still don't understand why people worry about their favorite characters dying....
If they don't make it this game then maybe they can get in for MK11

i guess, but damn, we gotta wait like 5 years from now. i just think they wouldve fit in perfectly with this roster and storyline. but we'll see.

Maybe they should join the special forces or white lotus only way they will playable!!!
They're post MK3 characters who aren't Kenshi or Quan Chi. Yeah, they're as good as dead because NRS doesn't know what they have with characters like Havik.
Except for when it comes to the post trilogy characters because they are trying to sweep the entire lot under the rug.

That gets thrown around a lot like it's easy to wait years to see your favorites again...especially when you go talking about the 3D era characters. Hell, what's it been for these two? Almost 10?

Lol Yes, When it comes to the 3D characters, Death DOES mean something- it means a Decade or longer hiatus.
I'd really be irritated if they did all of this hyping up Reiko and Havik in the comics only to kill them off and for them not to even be the bosses. Like wtf?
If Tanya, someone who hasn't had any role in the comics thus far, can make it in, why not two characters who have been at the center of the action?
I'll be extremely disappointed if both are killed off and do not at least make it in as DLC.

I really want both but feel like if they don't make the initial Roster, they won't make DLC.
Reason being outside of MK fandom, they aren't that well known and NRS would rather sell us any remaining MKT era characters that people are more familiar with and would be more likely to buy.
Like I said, I really want them, I've loved Havik from the start and Reiko was my favourite to play as in MKA.

Yes, I'm pretty sure. That #7 cover already hinted at at least one of their deaths. The only reason I care is because of Havik, but since Reiko is tied to his story, I just lumped them together for argument's sake.
Havik has potential, even though he was downright awful to play with. His fighting style was stupid. He did look scary and have a good enough story to make something of him. The mummy / old skeleton look intrigues me and causing chaos seems to be at least a part of this story so he would definitely fit.
Reiko is just a Shao Kahn wannabe but as a demon / blood god, he would at least look a lot different and have potential. As a normal character, I don't care two shits about him. Solely for 'factions' / roster balance, he would be okay though if he had some Shao Kahn moves.

The pain is real, friends. Fans of all the above, including Reiko. I seriously hope at least one of the above makes it in. I'm obviously not getting my absolute favorites from post MK4 (Bo' Rai Cho, Onaga).
Death means nothing in MK, but how long a character stays dead does depend on their popularity and/or how NRS feels about them.
Mavado and Hsu Hao likely won't return until the next compilation game (if we get another one), where their presence may not even be canon.
So worrying about secondary or minor characters dying is justified. Havik and Reiko are not core characters like Jax and Kung Lao. If they die in the next issue, it'll be confirmation that either NRS doesn't want to do much if anything with them, or doesn't know what to do with them.
The best you can hope for if they die is to get them as non-canon DLC.

I get what you mean, but I'm sure outside of the fandom Reiko and Havik are more well known than Tremor

I don't think Havik would go the way of the Red Dragon since a lot more people like him. Frost didn't immediately bite it so there's hope for Havik yet.
Still wouldn't mind if Reiko dies, he does a nice job of serving as Exclusive Comic Villain. I like instead of most he uses his mind, schemes and tactics to fight instead of straight up Kombat. But when it comes to being playable I don't see NRS giving him anything else but the same thing as before and ending up just as generic as he used to be. I can't even think of a good gimmick for him that isn't someone else's main thing.
So If he dies in the comic that's how I'll remember him, As Reiko The Power-Hungry Tactician and not Shao Kahn-Lite with added Noob Saibot Moves.

It's kinda lazy on their part that they're using these characters they don't like just as henchman fodder in the comics to not have to come up with new designs or anything.

I cant believe people keep talking about this... Reiko will be in the game, what would be the point in teasing about him in the cómics, giving him a pivotal point in the plot for nothing. Reiko and Javik are related with the final menace in this game OBVIOUSLY
