Any tips for kombo strings?

I haven't spent much time with the game yet, but one thing that was painfully evident almost immediately is that pulling off long kombo strings is much more difficult than in MK9. I think the run mechanic is what takes getting used to and hopefully I'll get better once my muscle memory stops wanting to dash. Does anyone have any other tips?

I haven't attempted any run combos yet, but I can say that even the folks at TYM were having difficulties in getting certain specials to activate in midst of combos.

The execution time seems to be a lot stricter, and the increased need to buffer moves can make it even more tricky.

I've finally managed to get some decent strings down with Cutthroat Kano.

Really? I feel just the opposite lol I feel like combos strings are a little easier in this game than MK9.

Really? I found it easier to do strings than MK9. I find that people think they have less time then they do in reality and just rush through the inputs. There is an option in the controller presets to make the game more lenient with special move inputs I believe.

The execution is a LOT harder imo than MK9. the combo mechanics are completely different

Try taking off the negative edge option in the wireless controller options. It helped me a lot. Timing is much more strict.

I also noticed that some specials need to have the direction and button pressed at the same time.

For example Mileenas teleport kick comes much more reliably if you press D,D+X rather than D,D,X

Yeah I am, I think some of the timing is a little bit more strict, but I feel as though when it comes to starting combos such as pop ups/juggles, MKX is a lot easier.

Sadly I agree TC. I also feel like 6 button fighters have ****** me up when it comes to MK. I can't play for **** now.

Think my biggest combo is with Raiden Displacer variant - 17 hit:

Y,X, A -> EX rising torpedo -> b+X, X, X+Y (or Y+B I forget the last input, it's the throw)
