I was closely looking at the kitana trailer and i couldnt notice anything different with her appearance. whereas kung lao, it showed the different kind of hats he had. Did you guys see anything?

I'm sure everyone can agree that one variation will be more focused on her fans (such as Scorpion with his swords, or Kotal Kahn's swords.)
Maybe one that focuses more on her pixie teleport move, although it wasn't seen in the trailer.
Even though it would probably play too similar to Raiden.

Yeah, I didn't notice anything obvious on her highlighting a specific variation, either. All her little gameplay bits seemed like general Kitana gameplay....well, that slide she borrowed from Skarlet was new, but everything else seemed pretty standard.
Kitana's one of those characters for whom I can imagine it being very difficult to create specific variations that feel different enough, while still having it feel like you're playing as Kitana, you know?

Classic special moves for all three variations: Fan toss, Fan lift, Square boost.
1. Assassin variation.
Adds MK9 Cutting fan (d,f,bp) and her MKDA ability to stab the opponent with one of her fans - the life bar of her opponent is slowly drained for the rest of the match.
2. Kick Ass variation.
Adds Pretty kicks, Fake Out Kick and the new special move from the trailer:
3. Royalty variation.
Adds Teleport (similar to the one she had in MKA and her MK9 x-ray). Adds the ability to summon some of her loyal Edenian warriors for a surprise attack (similar to Cassie Cage's air-strike).

That ninja run gif is cool. I'd like one that focuses on her being the wind ninja. Throw fujin in there somewhere, if she's going to live get her on steroids.
I'd guess a fan melee variation for defense, crazy projectile one and a wind juggle one.

I think this is her X-ray actually. That ninja run gif is cool.
I don't think is. The stab after the leap would have been shown in X-Ray vision, don't you think?
She also turns all grey/glowing in one frame, the same thing happens to Kung Lao when the throws that stationary hat. I'm guessing it's visual cue for enhanced special moves?

I'm curious about this as well, because I can't imagine her being anything else but super fan-a-licious like she was in 2011 and in the new trailer. Maybe her variations will all involve her fans like Kung Lao's all involve his hat?
I'm actually more interested to see what effects the variations have on her costume. I hope she doesn't inherit any glowy parts, like Kotal Khan, Quan Chi and now Kung Lao. That shit is looking silly already.

Mm, maybe. I was thinking more along the lines of early videos when Cassie's nut punch was shown but it didn't go into X-ray but that was a long time ago. oracle Wrote:

1. Boring edenian: Kitana uses her dull personality to bore her opponents.
2. Flop princess: Kitana uses her princess powers against her opponents, however they only do damge to herself cause she sucks at being royalty.
3. Expect the expected: Kitana uses her same storyline over and over in a series of repeat attacks
I kid I kid
