why would they do that? only for nostalgic value, not really for cash crop purposes.

arrrgh another dam 2d one jeeze 2d was fun but therre was the fact that the player could only move in 2 main directions bakwards and forwards the 3d versions allow for more free movement like side stepping.

If they wanted to make another 2d MK on the side I think it could work:

They could make it with a very low-budget, then take advantage of modern consoles online abilities by making it downloadable for dirt cheap. Like 3$ to 15$ cheap

The consoles already allow retro games to be downloaded for a small fee in a similar fashion, why not make some new, cost-effective games that use this system. Old gaming technology still sells, and would cost little to produce.

That being said I think the offical MK8 should be 3d and use modern technology. But since Boon seems to have a side-project fetish anyways, might as well fully apply it.

Yeah i agree,It would be nice to see another 2D Mk again.They could add some new characters also.

maybe for a mini game/game within a game. But I don't want MK to go the way of street fighter.

I personally think that with all the new characters that were originally developed in 3D form, to try to make another 2D MK and put them in it, it would just turn out shitty. That's my opinion.

NO, Midway should NOT make another 2-D MK game (unless it's a port for collections ,or DL over internet, etc.) because Mortal Kombat desperatley needs to move forward (D-E-S-P-E-R-A-T-L-E-Y) and going back to 2-D will not help the franchise will NOT help the brand in any sense.

I prefer the 2d mk's to the 3d ones, so yeah, I would definetly like to see a new 2d mk game.
