An interesting (yet probably stupid) MK theory.

WARNING: If you haven't beaten Mortal Kombat Deception as Li Mei yet, this discussion contains spoilers.

The other day, as I was watching Li Mei's ending (where she becomes Onaga's lover), a thought occured to me. The Shokan have always been stated as a race of half-dragon, half-human beings. Does this mean that if Li Mei's ending had been canon, their children would have been Shokan? I know it's a stretch, but I couldn't resist sharing this strange thought.

i think onaga would have to be a shokan for this to happen.

Not necessarily. With Onaga as a Dragon, and Li Mei as a human, the offspring would be a hybrid.

She may also be in a lot of pain giving birth to something that big

It doesn't explain the second pair of arms. Neither Onaga nor Li Mei have a second set so it wouldn't make sense for them to just suddenly sprout in their offspring. This is of course assuming they could even have offspring.

I don't think it's canon either. It's just something to think about.

And as for the extra arms, does that mean a human would have to mate with a four-armed dragon in order for a Shokan to be concieved?

The second pair of arms come from the Dragon's wings. Wings/forelegs/arms all have a similar structure. IF a human and dragon would somehow have children it wouldn't be too surprising that instead of wings they would be born with a second set of arms. Also, much of the Dragon King's power is acquired not born with. So there is little chance of his offspring inhereting it genetically.

Then again, unless you're going to introduce time travel into the story I seriously doubt that Li Mei could be the mother of the Shokan race.

That does make a lot of sense. I forgot about inherited traits and wing/arm structure. It's been a loooong time since I've been in school, let alone a science class.

And I'm not supposing she's the mother of the Shokan race, but would just be the mother of A Shokan. What I'm saying, is that all of this time I forgot that Shokan were half-human, half-dragon. After reading Li Mei's ending, it jogged my memory, and presented a possibility that IF Li Mei (or any human female) fornicated with Onaga, their offspring would likely be Shokan.

I was PMed with the theory of Li Mei not being able to birth a Shokan because of size... but if the Babalities are even a billionth canon, baby Sheeva was not really larget than the other babies.
