Alternates Costumes for DLC
Are we accepting that this may not happen?
I feel like people clamor for many things, but costumes for the DLC fighters doesn't seem to be one of the major requests.
The way that people beg for KP2 baffles me when KP1 is incomplete.
I get the purpose of the "free" compatibility skins, however I am personally beginning to suspect that these "free" skins are using up assets to which the DLC kharacters could be getting the alternates they should have.
I don't know all of the answers, but I don't understand why these kharacters are lacking something so basic.

Its not something I am too worried about, though I do think the actual MK DLC characters should have an alt like all the others, but its not something I am picketing for lol

It's inexcusable. No alts for guests? I might can understand as they may have to pay extra for alternate looks, but their own characters? They could have easily whipped up alternates for Tanya and Tremor! Now it's too late.

I accepted it wasn't going to happen the minute they didn't come with Alts in the first place. I know Zod got an Alt but that was really just to promote MoS.

Very true, but anything is possible. If this is really going to be an entirely new kombat pack, instead of just a couple more characters, than we're entering uncharted waters regardless. If its gonna happen, now would be the time to break the mold.
MK 4 Tanya and New Blood Jason would be kick ass.

I only want new costumes for the original cast if they're pulled from Deception.

Yes, please. I'd love that.

I mean I think Zod makes the situation 100x worse. It's really a slap in the face, because we know they can do it, but for some reason unknown to us they aren't.
I honestly don't want Boon teasing anything. I want them to fill us in as to why we are getting characters without alternate costumes.
I will give them credit for at least giving some of them voices, and everyone a spot in the Kollection. There are way too many things these developers skate by on with DLC.

I think the slap in the face by this logic started when alt costumes for the MK9 DLC characters were data-mined out of the console versions, but never released. Only to later becomes exclusives on the PS VITA version.

I never understood why they did that. Skarlet's was way superior than the costume we got.
Skarlet was the only one with a DLC costume actually on the console version but never released IIRC. I think Kenshi's was made exclusively for vita but I could be wrong.
I think it's especially dumb that Goro doesn't even have a alt considering that he was on disc.. It's just lazy at this point, I would gladly pay for some cool alts for Tanya/Tremor though.

I think overall they've done a good job with making up for the lack of skins in MK9...there's a TON of skins in the game. The problem is, the skins are relegated to mostly the "Original 7".
I am fully with the OP on this - the DLC characters need skins. Tremor is basically confirmed to be getting a classic skin, but Predator? Come on, so many designs to pick from. Tanya - you can get that purple alt she had from Deception, or the grey one from MK4. Jason, you have so many possibilities...and seriously? Jason in MKX has no Jason X skin?
I would love to see more skins. To me, skins are incentive and a fun little bonus to the game, and keep me playing because I enjoy the variety. I hope they capitalize on it. Things have been silent other than Ed teases from NRS. I'm sure they're working on something.

Yeah. Skarlet had an alt costume that could be pulled throught hacks but it wasn't working properly. Kenshi and Rain had no alt costumes.

This is true. I guess the main point is, what is there to do about it. I'm thinking back to when Ed said we would be getting full characters this time around.
In comparison to his statement that we would not get repeat DLC, I think one is speculative and the other is fact. When he said we would be getting COMPLETE kharacters I expected the whole shebang. Nothing less than what the regular characters had. He was speaking on DLC that was already in the works, and should have been planned to be COMPLETE.
Saying that, I think as a product manufacturer, he really should be able to be held accountable for at least some of the things he says, whether he is a troll typically or not.
It's as if they don't even intend on doing alternates for the DLC.

I'm confused, i've never seen Tanya wear purple. In deception she had two costumes and they were different shades of yellow for P1 and P2 colours.

Yeah, I got my generations mixed up. The grey outfit was console-exclusive and was based on the unused Kitana model - it was a palette swap of Kitana's model with Tanya's head sleeve. I believe it was only available on Nintendo 64.
I can see why guests WOULDN'T have alts - it costs money to license the character, and thus will cost more money per every likeness they use. Very costly. Yet, if they were to play their cards right, the costumes would generate enough revenue to cover the cost of licensing. Seeing how much MK has sold, and how Predator has emerged as the most popular individual DLC character from KP1, I can't see why they wouldn't at least get 1 alt out there, but financially it may be more costly than we know.
As for the others...Tanya and Tremor...they should, by all means, get alts. There's quite a few classic Tanya looks to pick from between MK4 and MKD, and Tremor well...Tremor has a ninja costume they can give him.
I never understood why they refused to make proper alts for DLCs in MK2011 (console versions) and I don't understand why they're doing the same thing with MKX. What is the problem?! I just don't get it. It's really frustrating for fans of DLC characters that they're stuck with 1 costume when some other characters in the game have 5 or 6. Confusing and disappointing...
LMAO I haven't even noticed! Haven't touched Goro yet and he hasn't been that present in tourney streams either, so no wonder. Still, very lazy from NRS indeed.

They are probably saving the DLC character alts (including Goro) for the Komplete Edition, which they will likely be exclusive to lol
