A little confused about unlocking Shinnok

I just finished story mode and it said I had unlocked Shinnok... however he was already unlocked and I had been playing him before I started story mode. confused Has this happened to anyone else?

I had him unlocked too before beating storymode, I think what auto unlocks him is having the samurai pack due to Shinnok having a skin in it, because I had it, and my bro didnt, and Shinnok was not unlocked for him.

Ah, that could be it as I have the Samurai pack too. I wonder if it's a bug or they actually meant for that to unlock him?

Got excited thinking NRS tricked us thinking he was unlockable but really it was someone else and the Patch fixed it... Guess not :/
