A future MK idea... Mortal Kombat: Chaos Illuminated.

Mortal Kombat: Chaos Illuminated.
Prologue:
Mortal Kombat, in a whole other timeline, years after the Armageddon Battle took place, a new threat rises from the dark. In a temple hid in the evil realm of Chaos, a sorcerer has come to life caused by necromancy. He is known as Emanon.
He was a forgotten man, no one knowing of him and nothing was ever recorded about him. It is also unknown why he was ressurected and how it happened. Only one thing is known, the chaos and havok he plans to spread across the realms has already begun.
By challenging the realms, he has revived the ancient tournament of Mortal Kombat. The rulers of the realms has accepted this challenge to preserve their worlds, as they have seen the powers Emanon holds. In hope of his defeat we too shall compete in the tournament... In Mortal Kombat.
Chaos, your name is Emanon.
Emanon rose from his grave, listening to the voice that calls upon him. The voice haunts him as if he has heard it before, though nothing is recalled to his mind. His bony hands grabs the edge of his coffin made of stone, dusty with sand and filth. He gains focus and looks in the direction from where the voice comes from. He sees a man in the shadow, holding a book as dusty and old as the catacombs. The man watches his creation with delight and smiles with satisfaction as he closes the book, the sound runging through the silent tomb. Emanon slowly feels the power surging through his bones, regaining his strength, enough to step out of his grave and feel ground under his feet.
The man takes a bow at Emanon.
-Welcome back to life, my lord.
Emanon watches him and gains stature, looking around the tomb as certain inscriptions lights up on the duty walls and refills his memory of his past self. He grins, his eyes are lit with a ghostly fire and a laugh echoes through the temple halls. He remembers.
-I am... The Lich Lord of Chaos...

-Khomrah, a young prince of Edenia with a talent for the ways of war. He has a tatoo on the back of his left shoulder of the Elder God Dragon, showing his ancestry.
-Shayleen, a woman street brawler from Earthrealm who is part of the rather large group of rebels in The War. After stealing something rather valuable from her enemies, she triggers its powers by accident and finds herself defending her life together with...
-Hong Liu, one of the few monk apprentices of a hidden cult, the remains of the Temple of Light which has been invaded by dark creatures of another world.
This might be more of a story than an actual game idea, but if that's the case, the continued thread will appear in the fan forum.
The main idea is to bring something new, something dark, back to Mortal Kombat, mixing it with a small amount of science fiction as it takes its appearance in the future. Its a whole new story of Mortal Kombat, having only small ties to the original characters, though as hinted above, some of the already known characters from the games will have small roles to play.
Think Killer Instinct meets Mortal Kombat. I've always liked the idea of colliding those two games, but its more the whole cosmology of the games rather than the actual stories that this story will be about.

Character Bio:
-Khomrah.
The Edenian Prince.
-Weapon: Two long scimitars with golden handles in dragon design.
-Background:
Born and raised in a free Edenia lead by their queen, Khomrah has heard tales from the past wars and the tournament created by the Elder Gods called Mortal Kombat. His father who was from another realm is one of the legendary heroes from the tales, and his death is still honoured in Edenia. Khomrah, though against his mother's wishes, has dedicated himself in the ways of war, trained in Edenian swordfighting and martial arts. Khomrah has an affinity for the legendary power called Dragon Fire which he has inherited from his father. To define his heritage, he has tattooed the Dragon Crest on the back of his shoulder.
Khomrah is now in his late teen years and he is about to anticipate in his first true battle. A man called Emanon has spread chaos throughout Edenia, maybe only to get attention, but his destructive powers are fierce enough to make enough havoc to draw warriors from around the realm to fight and stop him. So, a new tournament begins...
Khomrah could not just sit back and watch their warriors been slain, so he planned to go himself and fight Emanon and his minions. His mother, the queen, knew it was his destiny, though she did not wish to lose her only son. Still, she gave him her blessing and a gift from the Edenian Guardian, two scimitars which were used in the Armageddon Battle by the Edenian Guardian himself and his brother. And so Khomrah entered the tournament... In Mortal Kombat!
