A female cyborg
A female cyborg
Im probably going to get MK_FANATIC_ status for this but give me a break im just as excited about mkx as the rest of us. I was just thinking about cyborgs. I suppose cyborgs are probably gender neutral but what if a cyborg was detailed like a female. Maybe, even the color green... JADE?

maybe in the future, but not in MKX. Unless somehow Sektor becomes relevant, but looks like the Cyber Lin Kuei get defeated by Sub-Zero.
Maybe in Mk11, sektor comes back with a female to make the Tekunin in this timeline
After the fail that was cyber sub-zero i dont think they will ever make another already established charcter a cyborg, only new ones from now on.

Watch out, OP! You're gonna be accused of pandering to the Social Justice Warriors for wanting females in this game!

Well they could always introduce another special forces character seeing how it seems those guys are at least experimenting with cybernetics and other advanced tech.
For awhile, I thought that Tasia would make a really cool female cyborg. Maybe her background was that she was former Lin Kuei before going to the Black Dragon, and somehow got automated. I could see her using dual plasma swords...it would be the most interesting thing to happen to her....ever. Other candidates could be Kira and Frost. Frost because Lin Kuei, and Kira because why the fuck not?

I'm all for female characters, but having a female cyborg just so that there is a female version of a cyborg character seems misguided to me. I'd rather a new female character the likes of which we havent seen before, like D'vorah, than the sort of thing that brought Frost into existence. Female versions of preexisting characters will never stand the test of time.

No.
There's no point whatsoever to having a female cyborg character in any instance.

Because it would just be ridiculous for a female combatant to suffer a grievous injury during battle, necessitating extreme medical procedures... based on data gathered from the Lin Kuei's cyborg program. Nah, nothing interesting or entertaining could possibly come out of that.

It's uninspired because we already have had 4 cyborg character, better spend resources on giving them much needed development than to add a new one just for the sake of having a female version. NRS learned their lesson with Frost.

According to the comic, the Red Dragon now have the technology. So can we see a new prototype coming from them in MKX?

It never said they have the technology to make Cyborgs, it said they have the Lin Kuei Cloaking technology. (Invisibility)

How about the government commissions a droid to protect Earthrealm citizens after the special forces horribly fuck up somehow. They model and use the brain patterns of the last special forces agent that they trusted, the recently deceased Soyna Blade. It could start off she is all no non-sense and play off against Cassie, who is still sassy but also dealing with that fuck up, and then she gets captured by the Black Dragon in an attempt to rewire her to join them. Cassie then goes on a journey to get her mother, who she considered a tin can before, meanwhile "Robo-Blade" gets reprogramed and we see what Sonya would be like as a Black Dragon villain.
This means Soyna would have to die and they make an artificial version, but I think it would give Cassie a lot of development while keeping a fan favorite with an added twist. Also, since it's a whole new character and not Sonya being made into a cyborg, then we could be able to see those two face off down the line. You know after NRS bring Soyna back to life in some way.

Lin Kuei never had invisibility and never will.

Listen, I don't give a shit about arguing right now. I'm just telling you, according to the comic you are wrong.
See how it says "The Red Dragon recently acquired a cloaking technology utilized by the Cyber Lin Kuei" and on the left you can clearly see the dude being stabbed by the invisible swordsman. Also the fact that the large group of Red Dragon mercenaries appeared out of nowhere.

First off, no one here is arguing whatsoever and I clearly see what it says. I'm just wondering how they attained the ability when the Cyber Lin Kuei never had it to begin with?

Ok my bad sorry. Hard to tell sometimes with text. It's very possible they did, we've just never seen it. As mentioned already Smoke had Invisibility, but Sektor also used a cloaking ability in MKA Konquest mode. Technically he was a Tekunin at the time but maybe he had the ability all along, and from the sounds of it Sektor is once again leading an army this time with the less imaginative name of the "Cyber Lin Kuei".
