Lol when I saw Rain kick Kotal in the first picture I was like, "god dammnit Rain get away from this roster." Then I saw the rest of his outfit in the second pic and was like, "oh...welcome to the roster." Lol

Erron looks so good. I hope he is playable.

In that one image where Raiden is absorbing Shinnok, it looks like Sonya laying defeated in the background. I haven't seen this posted yet.

I think this pretty much confirms that Kitana gets re-killed and turned back into a revenant.

Here's why:
She's seen fighting Cassie and Kung Jin alongside Sindel in the Bloody Shaolin Temple and I assume the bloody shaolin temple is where the final boss fight takes place. (hello! Blood Demon= final boss. Shaolin Temple erupts into a bloody mess.) Sindel and Kitana are sub bosses before the main boss.

so somewhere in story mode, Kitana is killed again.

Take into account her dialogue with Reptile:

Reptile: Return to Court!
Kitana: Outworld was never my home!
Reptile: The Kahn demands it!

So apparently she WAS active in the story, alive, likely being persecuted by Kotal Kahn. if not, then how do you explain the dialogue?

So yes, it's kind of spoiled that Kitana bites the dust yet again in MKX.

I think it may be the opposite. This might be taking place after everyone's death in MK9's ending, Kitana first appears as a demon / revenant, then gets restored somehow as how we know her with the new outfit.

I'm not sure, but I think that may be Johnny Cage where old school Raiden is using the amulet against Shinnok?

Because Quan Chi is controlling her corpse.

They're fighting in the blood soaked Shaolin Temple, which is obviously where the final boss fight takes place.

Ok, so if you're so sure of your theory, then why ask?

From the trailer, this is what I gather will happen:

Johnny Cage defeats Shinnok in the Netherrealm War. Raiden imprisons him in his amulet.

25 years after MK9:
For some unknown purpose, Cassie and her team seek out Sub-Zero. He knows them by name. Sub-Zero mentions that they are not ready because they lack cooperation ("you lead, but they do not follow"). Part of their arcs will be learning to work together. Apparently, Cassie fights Sub-Zero to prove her worth.

Later, Cassie and her team arrive at the Spec Ops base and learn from Li Mei that Mileena has the amulet and is causing Kotal to become desperate. How did Mileena obtain the amulet, I wonder? Raiden seems to be advising the young spec ops team.

They go to Outworld and are escorted to see the emperor by Erron. Cassie claims Kano spilled Kotal's secrets to Mileena. Cassie also tells Kotal about Mileena and the amulet. Kotal questions Kano about Mileena's location while riding in his wagon.

Mileena ambushes Kotal on the streets. Rain helps her during the fight.

At some point in Outworld, Takeda, Jacqui and Cassie are captured and thrown into the brig at the Kove. Some shaolin monks are also escorted into the brig, but it's not known if this is a separate occurrence. Someone who appears to be in disguise probably gets them out (Kung Jin is the only one not shown captured). They escape and plan to attack their guards, Ermac and Reptile.

Later on, back on Earth, the team sees an unknown entity erupt from the shaolin temple. It soon envelops the region in a blood red cloud. Kotal's army arrives there as well and surround Cassie's forces. A revenant Sindel and Kitana guard the shaolin temple. I believe Liu Kang is involved here.

In the comic it is said that Johnny Cage is Raiden's champion. We see in the trailer that Raiden is absorbing Shinnok in the amulet. Johnny is next to him. I think this points that Johnny is at least playable in story mode. He's really close to Shinnok in the trailer. I think you beat Shinnok with Cage and then Raiden uses the amulet after Shinnok is weakend.
