My friend said that they should go back to 2D and use better digitizing engines, and my other friend agreed.

Im tired of people saying that the games should go back to 2D thats riduclous. What most of them want is the type of fighting in the 2D games. They could still do that in 3D.Okay it was jsut a lot of fans didnt like the whole they all have the same moves except for the specials. They should keep it in 3D,but maybe they should go back to the gameplay of the 2D games.
P.S. I personally prefer this current gameplay it is much more varied.

No effin way. You know technogly for games is always advancing and ppl always want sumthing new and better, with better graphics, So why would they go back to about a decade technolgy wise and make a 2D game???. That would just be suicide for game producers.
People want better grpahics for games.

MightyMeatLord talks sense... It would be the most ridicolous idea turning back to 2D now. A game should stay 2D, or turn to 3D. MK turned to 3D, there's no way back.

They should keep going with 3D because it can be much better. That it hasn't really been well done is a different story.
It'd be awesome to have the option of playing with the 3D glasses.

I wouldn't like for that to happen.
Instead, I'd like to see them make the game look more realistic, like what EA does with Fight Night and the new Def Jam game.
With the realistic look resembling the original MKs, keep going with the semi realistic fighting styles, keep working at making them work well and fun to use.
And continue toning down the dial combo concept.

Uuuuuummmm. Society wouldn't accept a transition from 2D to 3D to back to 2D again as a succesful game. There would be complaints all over MKO's discussion Forums. Critics would then rate Mortal kombat as a bad game with a score of 0 to 5.0 Including IGN and playstation Magazine.
I think the classical 2D games we already have for MK are good enough to play for years to come. If Midway decides to make an extra 2D game for fun, then I'm all for it.Like Mortal Kombat Trilogy 2 or something, where characters like Shinnok, Fujin, Quan Chi, and Frost are in 2D.

or a stupid thought and waste of time
have one version in 3d and on the other disk what it would look like in 2d... but yet again, why waste the time?

I was just about to say make a game with a 2D version and a 3D version.
I personally liked when MK ws in 2d also froma talking to my friends they also like it better when it was in 2D over 3D, but I still liked MK in 3D and since its the newer generation 3d has more potential for it to look more real

THe 2d vrsions were fun but when u play the 3d ones they give a more realistic feeling (well as realistic as people shooting spear darts out of their hands) 3d gives for freedom in movement and in fighting
