i want scorpion back just cause he is the best.....and the others i think they have great potential like kai and reiko both i loved from mk4..i just wish they were in more games... frost i see as taken over sub-zero...taven will be back thats my feeling he would be, nitara shes a vampire duh bring her back, noob and smoke i think they will be the next quan chi and stang tsung from deadly alliance but not as boss characters..... and kintaro just cause u need a monster from the old mortal kombats which i think he could have a good enough story like goro

1) Fujin
I'm actually surprised so many on this board feel the same as I do. He really should take over Raiden's place as Earthrealms protector. Because of his Wind Powers he's an original character and his storyline isn't messed up, which is the case with a large numbers ofcharacters in MK.

2) Raiden
I picture him being a main threat to Earth Realm over time. He turning more and more corrupt, I see him become really evil if more characters from the good side try to stop him.

3) Taven
Most likely he's the one who will defeat Blaze in MKA. I liked his story in Konquest, and I think because of him probably defeating Blaze, he's worth a comeback

4) Mavado
The Red Dragon was storywise a big hit for me when they turned up in MKDA. I had trouble liking Mavado at first hand, but in MKA he's one of my more favorite characters. His storyline has potential.

5) Kitana
I know most of you think it's lame, but Kitana needs to take the throne of Edenia.

6) Jade
She needs to be at Kitana's side. Never a character a liked gameplay wise, but I'd like to keep her around

7) Scorpion
As long as he gets a clear reason for fighting in MK, he should definitely return. No one can hate the Scorp, right

8) Havik
The only Chaos-realm character yet. And an interesting one. Nice looks, troubled way of thinking... we can go every way with this guy.

9) Li Mei
Young and potential. That is Li Mei. My favorite new girl from the 3D MK's. Lose the slutty costume though.

10) Kenshi
He's blind, making him original and he chooses his own path. His telekinetic powers suit him better dan Ermac (sorry Ermac-fans). I wonder where his directions would go if he survives MKA.

Here are my fifteen characters. I included a little back story i would like them to have for MK8.

1.Sub Zero- Now focusing on taking down his Brother Noob Saibot.

2.Noob Saibot- Forges an Alliance with Shinnok. His army is directed to take invade and eventually have control over Earthrealm.

3.Lord Shinnok-Allied with Saibot. The two allies have taken control of Outworld, and Shinnok and his army are now focusing on Edenia.

4.Queen Kitana-Is gathering her army to defend Edenia from Shinnok. Is completely ignoring the problems within the other realms.

5.Fujin-Has been denied the mantle of Protector of Earthrealm. Wants to Defeat both Shinnok and Noob in order to prove how he deserves to be the Protector.

6.Raiden-He is still the Protector of Earthrealm. Believes he is Earthrealm’s only hope, and is going to work alone to defeat Shinnok and Noob Saibot.

7.Jax-Mentally unstable after MKA. He comes out of hiding to defeat Sektor once and for all.

8.Sektor-Believes that Noob Saibots invasion of Earthrealm is his best chance to gain the upper hand and take control of Earthrealm.

9.Sonya Blade-Was working to defeat Sektor, but now must focus all of her strength and resources to defeat Noob Saibot. Doesn’t know about Jax returning.

10.Kabal-In a bout of luck, Kabal has discovered Shinnok’s Amulet. Long thought to be destroyed, Kabal and Kira have set out to retrieve it from an Earthrealm Jungle.

11.Kira-Now second in command for the Black Dragon, Kira is as lethal, and arrogant, as ever. Is working with Kabal to retrieve the Amulet.

12.Kobra-After escaping death at the hands of Kira and Kabal, Kobra has returned, as the new leader of the Red Dragon. His first task as the leader is to destroy Kabal, and capture Kira.

13.Reptile- Now his own master, Reptile, and his new female companion, have learned of the Amulets location. He is focused on finding the amulet before the Black Dragon, in order to reform Zaterra, and resurrect his people.

14.Scorpion-Scorpion, having unsuccessfully resurrected his clan, is now focusing on redeeming his title. He has agreed to ally with Shinnok and has become his General. Unbeknownst to Shinnok however, Scorpion intends to destroy him and Noob Saibot from the inside.

15.Kung Lao-Disgusted with the selfish actions of his friends and allies, Kung Lao has returned to the battle field. He will unite the forces of good, in order to destroy Shinnok, and Noob Saibot, and return the realms to peace and unity. The first part of his plan, infiltration of the enemy, has already been fulfilled by Scorpion, and he now plans to gather the rest of his allies, and reveal the rest of his plan.

I wanted Kung Lao to have a chance to be the real Main Hero. I wanted everyone to be focusing on their own goals, without giving a thought to the other people, or realms. Even Raiden, and Fujin, are selfishly trying to solve their own problems. Kung Lao, having remaining pure since MK:A, is angered by everyone being so self-centered, especially his Allies, who he thought he could allways rely on.

1.Liu Kang-Even though he has been a hero already it would be nice to see him participate in one last tournment for the next MK.

2.Subzero-I would like to see where his story continues.Also I would want to see him with a new look and a new weapon.

3.Shinnok-He hasn't been in almost most of the MK games up intil MKA.So Midway should include him in the next one.

4.Scorpion-Most of the same reasons of Subzero.I hope his story will involve more in the next MK.

5.Fujin-Also one of those characters who haven't been in a MK for along time.

6.Johnny Cage-I know he was suppoosed to be just a joke character.But finally his story is starting to be more interesting to be.Could he be the next hero?

7.Jax-I haven't really understood his story in the past,but they could revamped it in the next one.

8.Shao Khan-I think we should give him one more chance to play the last boss.He would fight alot different,perhaps with a new weapon.

9.Raiden-The God of Thunder should return just so I can see his story.But his character design should be differnt.I think he should lose the character design form MKD and get a brand new one.

10.Kung lao-In his story he should still join up with Liu Kang to defeat Shoa Khan.

11.Kenshi-One of the best new characters from the new MK's.His main weapon and story made me more interested in the future of him.

12.Kitana-She does need a newstory though I think the Midway team could pull it off.Also a new design

13.Quan Chi-He should come back in the next one because I still would want to see what would happen between him Shang Sung.

14.Shang Sung-He might join Shao Khan in the tournment.Both of them would make great partners.

15.Cyrax and Sector-They should come make as a new role in the next MK.

1. Kenshi- This character is highly popular, and has a lot of potential in his storyline. The MK team, luckily didn't destroy this characters story by leaving him as a "loner/rogue." That leaves him with many possibilities for the future. To me, he still holds freshness since his debut in MK:DA. And looks awesome =P

2. Sub Zero- A true leader character. As a ninja, he may be boring and stuff because of all the ninjas in mk. Outdated maybe. Or maybe not.... In my opinion, he showed strong leadership, a role that can make him an important character in the next gen.

3. Fujin- The god of wind, I believe should now take raidens role when raiden was "good." I find fujin a likeable character, but thats just me. He seems pretty cool and a nice replacement for raiden.

4. Kitana- Female leader. Been in MK for a long time. A bold female like her, who does hold a story worth talking about, should belong in the next gen games. A veteran female leader, should add somewhat a more diverse feeling in the game.

5. Nitara- She was a fun character in MK:DA. I would find it interesting if she came back, more vampirish-demonlike. She is my favorite female character, and I feel like she does deserve a chance because not much is known about her, and she doesn't have much of a story, so the MK team can use her to develope a story because she still basically does't have one.

6. Raiden- He would make an awesome bad guy/boss. A strong leadership of good, now turned bad. Would simply, imo, rock. He is a cool character, awesome powers, a god. And having him turn on the good side would create much more suspence in the mk stories.

7 Reptile- He can go two ways from here. Depending on what happens, he can slowly turn back to becoming a humanlike/ninja again. Or, what I would rather see is him become like the ultimate lizard monster. His devolution in MK seems fit for this game. It will take away from all the ninjas in the game and now create a monster like creature.

8. Mavado- After Kenshi, mavado is another character with GREAT potential. He seems like an ultimate badass. MUCH better than kano ever was. Him and his group so far seem strong. His storyline so far, i believe is one of the best for newer characters. Plus, he looks so damn badass.

9. Ermac- A great classic character. Popular too. Even though people complain about him and kenshi being similar, they do use their powers differently. Cool upgrade in costume. A character turned good from bad could help give the story a simple refresh it needs. He seems like he can be a great mentor to those

10. Sektor- Him and his robot clan also has potential for starting the new MK storyline. Cyrax is now too broken a character, storyline wise. lol. Sektor seems to be the more popular robot between the two. I didn't mention smoke yet because... idl him. hehe

11. Kung Lao- I feel like this character is a "must" for Mortal Kombat. I find him much better than liu kang, hence why liu kang was "kinda" killed off. Can play a leadership role for the goodies.

12. Kabal- A character that is popular, interesting storyline, and I believe he can hold up for the next gen.

13. Taven- pretty much very new character, he could come back with an updated storyline.

14. Li Mei- Like someone else said before, young and holds potential. I'm giving her another chance due to being still pretty new.

15. Scorpion- Yep.... him =[ unfortunately, he and subbie are trademarks of MK and shouldn't be rid of. I hate saying that, but its true.

1 - Sub Zero (I just feel he can still go on, he's one of the most liked characters but still haven't played a major role in the story)
2 - Fujin (In my eyes so much more interesting than Raiden)
3 - Taven (Just the better of the two brothers, poor Daegon didn't have the time to establish himself as a good villain)
4 - Khameleon (The reptilian replacement for Reptile, also managed to mate with him before his death)
5 - Noob Saibot (He is just too cool)
6 - Smoke (Departed from noob, more into the nano cloud thing, maybe even crazy-evil)
7 - Ermac (Very cool, one of my favorites)
8 - Kitana (I see more future for her than for Mileena)
9 - Kung lao (Another favorite of mine)
10 - Sareena (I see potential in her, and I was impressed with her in MK:A)
11 - Motaro (because it ain't MK without some bigass monster dude, maybe the other legs will return)
