I guess it's just my opinion. I certainly don't believe she has the "best developed stories" in the series.

In fact, I think that might be why I am a little surprised of her popularity. I've always thought of her as Kitana's shadow. Her story always involves Kitana and hasn't really developed over the years.

And her being "colored", "green", "pole dancer", and "edenian" aren't enough good reasons for me to like her.

I'm for story twists, but that's one aspect I want kept forever. Jade's loyalty to Kitana and the royal family is the prime reason she's one of my favorite characters.

those all work for me :). being a little blatino boy growing up, I found it interesting that there was a black girl in the game *though she's not 'really' black, my elementary brain sure didn't try to learn the difference lol*. and green's my favorite color, pole dancers are amazing, and Edenia was always so interesting to me...

I see her as a Sub-Zero type but less brooding. I see her as very serious as well. Maybe less sassy and more sarcastic in a dead pan snarker kind of way. It's why I loved her as general of Edenia's army. That exactly where I see her at her best. Leading the military.

Neither had Mileena and no one questions her popularity.

I'm new to this site and I think it's amazing to find so many people who take MK so seriously!

Well, I voted Jade.

I think we all know this poll is more like a popularity contest, so it is really hard to be objective about the reasons why we like a character or not. I'm a big fan of Kitana and, as cheesy as this might sound, this game means a lot to me.

I remember being 8 years old, back in 1992 and feeling shocked after seeing Sonya's deadly kiss, as her helpless victim burned. That was no doubt the best thing I had ever seen in a video game, and it was great to see a badass girl fighting all of these awesome characters. So, it was sad not the see her in MK2, but hey, Kitana and Mileena were there!

I've been playing as Kitana and Mileena since 1993 and they are the only two characters in MK9 I can decently play with. So, I don't really care much about their story-line, because it changes all the time. But I think these characters have cool personalities, moves, juggles and combos. So, for me this is a matter of loyalty to my characters (they've been part of my life for 20 years and I like female characters a lot, as they are hot and lethal!) but it is pretty cool to see that everyone has a different reason to vote.

if Jade diddn't exist in MK it wouldn't make a difference, but MK wouldn't be the series it is without Johnny Cage, he just is MK like Scorpion and Sub Zero are but Jade is irrelevant compared to Johnny Cage, MK Online community sucks, too many people voting for fashion and race over substance and importance.
