Official Render: The Pit II
Official Render: The Pit II
I'm pretty sure this is old news, but, I haven't seen it posted anywhere in MKO so I'll give it a shot in case someone hasn't seen it yet:
Pit II Render
It's a really nice render. I think the arena is gorgeous thanks to that huge moon and the volcano and clouds in the background (among other details).
Interestingly enough, I think this is the first time (in a long time) that I feel like the in-game arenas/backgrounds look a billion times better IN the game than in the renders (which automatically look gorgeous anyways).
The MKvsDC arenas are all beautiful, but the render pictures always looked darker and more rich and stylish than the final product in the game.
In this new game, however, I feel like the arenas/backgrounds are absolutely stunning and even better than the renders (assuming all renders will look like this one, which is great, don't get me wrong).
Anyway, your thoughts? Enjoy you guys!

So exactly who built a a bridge over a pit of spikes, and why? IS the entire MK universe just THAT bloodthirsty that they set up places where people can die?

I always thought it was place built for execution purposes or arena of some sort for people to fight to the death.

I think it's more likely the bridge was there first, y'know, to get from the one mountainside to the other...and Kahn was like "Plant some spikes in the ground under there! I'm gonna make people fight on that bridge and it'll be awesome!" It didn't even have spikes originally, remember.
Although the one on Shang's Island, the original Pit...I'm sure that was deliberately built just to be a deadly arena to hold tournament fights in.
And I will never understand why, in 3, even Kahn's damned throne room is a deadly catwalk with no railings and buzzsaws underneath.

Yeah it is an awesome render queve!!!
However, Do we actually know if it is actually official? I mean first glance it does seem to be the case but something tells me it just may not be!!!
I heard a foreign MK fansite first published it. However it may be real and it does appear to be that way. But there is nothing wrong with confirmation.
Aha OT: Have you forgotten about me PM mr?

You know, that's actually a damn good question. Which of the Outworld races is most commonly used by Shao Kahn for menial labor?

What's that castle in the background? Is it Shang Tsung's Palace or the outside of The Armory?

It looks great, but I hate that they replaced the falling cut scene with *sigh* more spikes.

This, I'm wondering why they didn't stay true with the original mk2 version, but instead sorta fused the pit 2 background with the pit 1's fatality

It looks great. I think it looks better in action though. The gamespot video really shows it well. The lighting is just perfect.

It definitely looks amazing! I'm also disappointed that they added the spikes though. The Pit 2 was always my favourite of the Stage Fatalities because of the drop onto hard concrete. Adding spikes ruins the nostalgia a little.

Would be nice to have it in a high resolution and without the
eye-gouging "watter mark".

It's incredibly awesome. The video they showed from the team playing on this level at E3 showed a fight on the far off bridge like in MKII that really makes it perfect!
You are welcome guys!
I'm glad you enjoyed it and that most of you got to see it for the first time.
I just don't understand why this render hasn't been posted in a news leads by MKO.
Hahahahahahhaha!!! That would be fantastic!
Remember the MK1 silhouettes that were flying over the moon? Well, they had a witch in one of them, so, I don't think its impossible to have a Harry Potter chasing the snitch.
