now that mk is own by warner bro ,dont you think they can get better voice actors?
ever since the 1st mk movie i have always wanted the mk team to actually get cary tagawa to do the voice acting for shan tsung,
you all know you wana hear the words YOUR SOUL IS MINE when shang tsung takes a soul, but seriously he would do a much better job then any other voice actor has done for shang tsung.
just imagin christopher lee doin the voice for raiden
i think asian characters like lui kang and kung lao (for example) should actually have a bit of a asian accent, and not sound like americans
i think they should try and get someone who is like a vocalist in a death/black metal band to do the voice of baraka, have him roar ,have him roar hard
a voice actor i would keep would be quon chi,the guy from mythologies doese him so well in my opinion

I've got a bit of a voice actor wishlist I've been compiling recently. There aren't many characters on it yet 'cause it's still a work in progress, but so far I've decided for certain that I want to see George Takei voice Shang and David Kaye (Beast Wars Megatron) do Shao Kahn.
I try to stick to actual career voice actors, no "movie stars" who would either be too expensive or inexperienced. Tagawa has done some voice work, I've heard him play a Teen Titans villain at least...but between the two, George has the more experience and I just prefer the sound of his voice.

MK vs. DCU was hit and miss. Jax, Liu Kang, and Sonya sounded good. Quan Chi and Raiden were abominations, why they'd change their original voices is beyond me. Quan Chi's voice was well established in the past games, and Raiden's was perfect in MKDA.
The rest were incredibly mediocre.
Yes, better voice acting is a must.
Edit:
Yes. Amazing voice. Billy West is another favourite of mine (Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Dr. Zoidberg, Zapp Brannigan and many other voices on Futurama), and he's done video games before. He's versatile enough that they could get him to do several voices without it sounding cheap.
Also, Mark Hamill.

To be fair though, the guy who did the Joker in MKVsDCU did a bloody good job I thought. Also Mark Hamill isn't going to be voicing the Joker again after Arkham City. The laughter hurts his throat.
I heard John Dimaggio voice the Joker in the latest DC animated movie thing. Sounded the spit of Hamil.
Anyway. Blimey, voice actors. I thought most of the MKvsDCU girls and guys sounded ok. None sounded truly god awful.

About Asian characters having Asian accents, just don't make them sound too stereotypical, I'll cut someone up if I hear Kung Lao going, "Riu Kang, The amuret is rocated in the Himaraya mountains!" or even worse, "I rike Chinee food!" I absolutely hate thick accents, too comical for the serious MK.

I think that all characters should be voiced by Tommy Waiseu.
As long as I don't hear Bruce Willis, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Brad Pit and other such famous persons as voice actors i'm fine with it.
I don't want the MK characters to turn into famous shit people, so that everytime I hear Mileena speak I think off that Angelina Jolie or something... please don't do that to me!
They are good for movies, but not good for MK games.

John Dimaggio could do his Marcus Fenix voice for Stryker.
And none sounded awful? Did you hear Shang Tsung?

Jackie chan should do Kang and Mel Gibson should do cage,Al Pachino should do raiden but with the T Montana accent, that would be sick. Jack black should do Bo Rai Cho, I dont know just making thhese from the top of my head

I love the irony of the worst voice in the game being done by the only well-known actor in the game (Ando from the TV show Heroes).
Though I guess the guy who voiced Raiden and Joker could be considered semi-famous as a voice actor too, he does a ton of anime.

There was nothing wrong with Raiden's voice, but it wasn't... Raiden. Raiden has a deep sort of smokey voice. They really should have just used his MKDA voice actor, he was perfect.

I disagree. I guess if the Raiden voice you hear in your head is Lambert, maybe...but to me, while his personality was epic and will define my view of Raiden forever, his damned hoarse whispering all the time wasn't so great. So voice-wise, I like Epcar's Raiden best so far.
Besides, the guy who did his voice in Deadly Alliance was clearly just a Midway employee like every voice actor they've ever had prior to MKvsDC. Good enough to narrate openings and endings, sure. But capable of giving an acting performance? I can almost guarantee not. It's time to stop pulling random guys out of the hall into the sound booth and start making games the way the goddamn professionals do.

On that list I mentioned earlier, he's my Johnny Cage pick. Though he probably has the range to do multiple characters.

I actually disliked Lambert's voice a lot too. MKDA Raiden had the same "smokey" quality without being a hoarse whisper.
This how I think of Raiden.
Wikipedia has his MKDA voice actor listed as Carlos Pesina... if it's true then he did a great job, and deserves to play the part anyway.

Yeah, see...that just doesn't work for me. For one thing, it really does come off more like a Midway employee just reading lines than actual acting, like I said, which is one of the biggest problems with past MK games, and they really need to get past pulling that crap, and for another...when I look at this face:

I hear something a lot deeper. I think Epcar's tone was as close a match as any. To be honest, I might not mind Clancy Brown reprising the role from Defenders of the Realm either.
Guys it'd be better if u could provide us with links concerning the actors voices so we can hear them or at least give more details in which MK the characters u r talking about.
The topic is interesting and I guess there r people like me who lack information about it.
Thank u

while most everyone needs better voice-overs... Mileena must have her death scream from deception and Liu Kang has to make all his weird noises while doing the bicycle kicks.
Is that too much to ask for

The team has always done the fighting grunts and screams really well, it's just the acting that's been shaky. Liu Kang will certainly have the turkey calls.
