This is actually really cool, and I'm glad you shared it, but to nitpick for the sake of nitpicking...

For all the effort he put into it, he phoned in a lot of the ninja portraits. Pretty much all the male, female and cyber ninjas have a generic MK2/MK3 look, and don't reflect their more modern and unique outfits. It's less noticable on some of the ones who still maintain a ninja look like Scorpion and Sub-Zero, but very noticeable on others, who never really had a ninja look to begin with. As an example: His Frost & Tanya look nothing like they've ever looked in any actual game. His Cyber Sub-Zero looks like an MK3 ninja. And characters like Reptile or Ermac, who's looks have changed drastically since the 2D days, just look out of date.

Ninja nitpicks aside... He also made Kai white. Which is just... confusing.

I also wish Torr had Ferra in his Portrait.

Took a stab at it and this is what I came up with. Not my wishlist roster, per se. Just took a realistic guess at what it could end up being.

Just comparing the rosters guesses I've seen thus far to the one I made (I can't easily take a screencap at home, perhaps I'll post it at work tomorrow)...

Most people seem to have the same guesses for about 80% of the base roster, and the majority of them are the faces we've already seen strongly hinted. Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Cassie. Most of us are taking them as a given at this point.

People seem pretty confident in Shang Tsung returning, and I think MKX dropped enough hints that I am too.

I think the presence of D'Vorah and the strong hint for Erron has made pretty much everyone agree Kotal's odds are good at this point. There was a lot of skepticism about the MK8 newbies returning in the early going, but D'vorah seemingly cracked open the floodgate, and the ERR blew it open even further. Most people seem to think Takeda will stick around to. Virtually no one seems to think Kung Jin, Jacqui or Ferra-Torr are returning. Or Tremor & Triborg for that matter.

Pretty much everyone seems to agree Noob is in, and pretty much everyone seems to think either Smoke or Rain will also be in, but no one seems to think both Smoke AND Rain will be in (at least not in the base roster)... Everyone is bumping Ermac, but putting him in as a DLC possibility.

The MK3 characters who sat out MKX seem to be a real crapshoot for people. I'm seeing Nightwolf, Sindel & Stryker popping up a lot, but no one picks them in the same combination. People seem to have very little faith in the Cyborgs returning for 11. I kinda feel like Cyrax could make DLC, but don't think he'll be on disc. And no one ever had any faith in Sheeva returning.

Speaking of Sheeva, everyone seems to be sitting out Goro for this game too. Guess most people figure he got his 15 minutes in MKX.

The only 3D characters everyone collectively seems to have any faith in are Fujin & Havik (Others will get tossed in here and there, but those two seem to be the only common denominators) (I'm personally less confident in Fujin after Ed's tweet, but admit, he's still not impossible)

Everyone seems to think Mileena will be DLC. (I personally also think Reptile will, but notice some people still have him on the base roster. I think both of them will sit out the main roster, but be the first two names people scream for as DLC.

I thought about Cyrax as DLC but figured I was being unrealistic with only 2 total guest characters so I cut him and someone else i forget.

I included kronika sort of hopefully that she has some form playable but I realize rumors have been to the contrary. For Jacqui, I had a few slots that I debated between different characters that probably need a bit of TLC. Sareena and Reiko were both possibilities I considered but Jacqui felt more realistic and closer to the current storyline

Alright, I'll bite. Feel free to rip into my roster if you'd like. These are just who I wouldn't mind seeing in MK11. I wanted to try and of course include my personal favorites, alongside those we have already seen and those who've been teased. Also, I'd like to try and provide at least a little representation to all eras of MK. As to whether or not I did a good job is up for you all to decide.

• The DLC characters (aside from Jade, Noob, Sheeva, and Shang Tsung) are those who I believe could be handled exceptionally well by NRS and turned into something special. I also considered possible story implications.
• Rain can also be included on here as I had honestly forgot about him. I couldn't come to an agreement with myself as to where he'd be placed on the roster or if he'd be DLC. But personally speaking, I'm like 70 - 80% certain he'll be playable.
• Boss characters at the far sides are nonplayable. I understand having all of the big bads in the game is highly unlikely, but I think it'd be cool to see considering the whole timeline aspect.
• Khameleon would be exclusive to the Switch version, like she's been with N64 Trilogy and Wii Armageddon.
• Having Spawn being the only guest is highly unlikely and improbable, however he is the only one I'd want. I don't really care for Pennywise, Michael Myers and whatnot.
• The blank character slot to the right of Geras represents a new character for 11.
• The reason for Chameleons inclusion is because of how much I appreciated what they did with Triborg, and feel as though they'd try their hand at something akin to that again.

Alright, here's mine, and yes it takes the recent Trophy leaks into account (otherwise Jacqui never would have made it)... Hence the 3 blank spots on the main roster... for the 3 mystery names.

If you asked me an hour ago, I thought Shang Tsung had good odds. Now that the roster is looking fuller, I'm not so sure. I put Shang on the main roster and Takeda as DLC, but I'm not confident about it. I might suggest a swap and remove Shang, to add Takeda to the main roster. (I don't think Shang would be DLC, DLC characters get a bit of story, but not much development. I think Shang would more likely be saved for a more important return in a future game.)

That said, the other of the 2 slots left I guessed on the main Roster I gave to Noob. I'm fairly confident for Noob at this point. Though still not quite 100%.

As I said earlier, I've thought Mileena & Reptile would sit out for quite a while. I'm hopeful both of them will anchor a Kombat Pack. I could see Reptile sitting out entirely, but I think people will scream enough for him to maybe make it into pack 2.

The thing about the Kombat packs most people don't factor in is: Not just the guests, but literally every one so far has had a new or new-ish character. Skarlet was new in MK9's, Tremor was newish in the first MKX, Triborg was both new and newish in MKX2. Hence I put a new character in one of my Kombat packs to fill that niche (also I know there are 6 slots, I just ignore 2 for the sake of guests. I don't care about guests.)

I threw Sindel a bone in pack 2, but I honestly don't feel confident about her. I think she'd more likely be a new female. But. I figured wth.

I'm not confident about Havik, but I figure if he has a chance in hell anywhere, it's Kombat Pack 2. Kombat Pack 2 gets developed later and gets more benefit of fan influence. Which is also why I put Reptile there. I'm more confident in Mileena then Reptile. I figure by Kombat Pack 2, maybe people will have screamed enough for Reptile & Havik to give them a snowball's chance in hell.

I could MAYBE see Jax sneaking into a Kombat pack, but honestly don't feel the odds are huge.

Oh, and I threw Kung Jin a bone in Kombat Pack 2 because I figured if the other 3 kids make it back, he may as well. I hate Kung Jin, this was a pure pity/mercy move on my part, lol. I figure his odds of returning are better than most of the 3D era.

Admittedly, I had forgotten that Kombat Packs tend to introduce new characters. Oops

If the trophy list is legit we have like ten characters once considered to be shoe-ins by many people for only a couple of spots... I'm thinking Kitana, Kenshi, Noob, Rain, Smoke, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage and Takeda. The safest bet would be Kitana, Johnny and Noob (maybe Shang as well if Shao Kahn is #26).

The more I think about Shang, the less confident I feel about him. To the point where I want to go and edit the roster I posted 3 posts ago and remove him, lol. (Like I said, I'd replace him with Takeda)

His odds felt good yesterday, but with such limited space left today, I don't see it. He'd be a major returning villain, and I think they'd want to do him more justice than just a low-key resurrection playing a backseat role to Kronika. Honestly, I know he works for Kahn, but he's always been the more cunning and intriguing character. Kahn is all force, conquer, smash, rule. Shang has a personality. He's a manipulator. Not to mention he's the one who plays rival to Liu Kang, not Shao Kahn (who more often plays Raiden's foil)

I feel like they'd more likely save Shang for a bigger return at this stage. Something like Deadly Alliance that puts him in a main antagonist role again (though not likely a rehash of Deadly Alliance)

Decided to go back and clean my roster up, as well as make the overall image less of a mess. Apologies in advance if this seems like spam, I'd remove my other post if I could.

Overall, it's largely the same save for the omission of Mileena and Triborg and the removal of the bosses. In Mileenas spot I added Rain, since he seems to have a strong chance of making it in. In Triborg's, I've added on Takeda since I feel as though he has also has a decent chance of making the roster. I also added on Quan Chi as potential DLC for the same reason. Yes, he got killed but that hasn't stopped anyone yet in this series (Still considering story implications, as well). The new blank face in the DLC area is an additional guest that is purely a wish on my behalf, and that is The Doom Slayer. Otherwise, it's all the same. I would add on Ermac, Sindel, Reptile and Mileena, but I feel as though they'll sit this one out (I'd love to be wrong about Ermac, though). As before, feel free to rip into my choices.

What a great, fun little tool! I really like the little avatars they made for each character. There are a few that could use an update; I didn't realize that the blue and white female ninja was Frost at first. Anyway, I used this to create what I believe is the confirmed character list so far in light of the recent steam achievement leaks:

So yeah this roster seems to be about final. The only ones that are still up in the air are the new characters (cet, ter, kol) and some people, myself included, are unconvinced by johnny, rain, and noob for the last three slots. Johnny has been spotted in the background of the bts video but otherwise hasn't been seen. The one menu icon had a figure that many believe to be Rain but he also has a modifier appear in towers of time. Noob has been listed as a main for a few pro players but otherwise doesnt have much.

So yeah replace johnny with another ? And we've got the roster so far

The blurry shot of Johnny appeared to be him performing a fatality. I wasn't convinced by it at first, but someone here blew it up and cleaned it up a bit, and once I could see it better it went a lot further toward convincing me. So I'm pretty agreed he's likely in at this point.

On Noob & Rain I agree completely. I don't think we've seen compelling enough evidence to call them a lock yet. I have high hopes for Noob, but I admit, I wouldn't say he's a guarantee yet.

(My personal best bet for the last 2 mystery slots are Noob & Takeda, but that's purely a guess on my part)

there is a thread of it on here it list them as like getting a fatality then it says _FRO or _JAD so if its legit leak it told us they are in the game

First row: Ninjas (Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Noob, Rain, Smoke, Reptile)

Second row: Raiden and Sindel in the sides, Liu Kang with his best friend, Kug Lao, and Kitana with her best friend, Jade, in the center

Third row: 3D era characters Fujin, Sareena, the gang in the comic (Havik, Reiko, Skarlet)+ Kabal

Fourth row: the Takeda/Daegon/Kenshi/Taven storyline+ Ashrah and a sorceror

Fifth row: Kotal Kahn and his gang (easily the better characters introduced in MKX)

Sixth row: Baraka&Mileena

Seventh row: new+ Shao Kahn

Alright, I gave this a shot. Everything is self explanatory except the bottom two rows. Because my roster is bigger than average, I cut DLC to 2 packs of 4.

Pack 1 - Mileena, Fujin, Reptile & Pennywise

Pack 2 - Ashrah, Jax, Shang Tsung & Michael Myers

Sareena and Havik would be secret characters you unlock in the Krypt by finding secret tombstones.

Geras is unlocked by finishing the story and Shao Kahn is still a pre-order bonus.
