With the announcement of Cetrion I think it's safe to say Tremor will be left out considering their powers being so similar. Anyone else a bit sad? I really enjoyed playing as him in MKX personally.
Not really.
I liked Tremor a lot in MKX. I thought they did very well with his look and moveset. Although with his powers I figure the moves would come easy.
I wouldn't say I'm sad he's most likely not in MK11, mostly because I never expected him to be. I mean with a lot of the "fan favorites" not making I figured that would just lessen Tremor's chances.
Even so I really liked him and I hope he returns in another game.
I thought it was safe to assume no Tremor from the get go. Especially with Geras.
============GET==OVER==HERE============>>
I thought the reason Tremor wasn't in was because we already have 3 tall, beefy male characters with Kotal, Shao, and Geras?! A bunch of hooded, masked characters too.
Jokes aside, Mortal Kombat has plenty of "clones"; characters using similar movesets; or a similar theme. There are several example of that in MK11 alone.
The obvios ones include Johnny+Sonya+Cassie; Sub-Zero+Frost; and The Jackson Twins.
Less obvious ones: Cassie dual-wielding pistols in a lot of her combos similar to Erron; Kollector looks like a blue D'Vorah; Johnny has a stunt-double move like Noob's shadow; Liu Kang, Scorpion and Kotal like to burn things.
The argument that Termor, Rain and Fujin can't be in the game because of Cetrion is like saying Mileena, Baraka, and Noob can't be in the game because they died in last game (or the game before in Noob's case).
Tremor was a bone throw to fans. Sad because he is pretty cool.
tremore won’t sniff another roster for another’s 20 years
I'm happy for the guy. After 20 some odd whatever years of being one of the more prominent secondary characters in the franchise, he finally got promoted up to main roster. That said... not like he leaped off the screen and became my new favorite character or anything.
If a miracle happens and they ever do another complete roster game, I'd certainly welcome him back, but I'm not losing any sleep if he sits out in the meantime.
That said: Seems like they're shoving Kabal back into the role of Black Dragon lackey this game, which is kind of the same territory Tremor occupies. I imagine if Kabal becomes Kano's go-to lackey permanently, that could hurt Tremor's odds in the future. Weird thing is we've never actually seen Kabal & Kano as black dragons in the same game before, nor Kabal as a Black Dragon UNDER Kano. We've seen Kabal defect while Kano led. We've seen Kabal lead while Kano was out of the picture. I suppose maybe they were both Black Dragons in Armageddon? But that story was put together so poorly it's hard to even know.

That's exactly what people said about Skarlet and look at her now- she managed to nab a spot in such a tight roster over some HUGE names.
Not to mention, everyone assumed Frost would only return if she was a skin for Sub-Zero and yet here she is as her own character.
Basically, you can never be sure about who will or won't suit up for another Mortal Kombat.

I’d really love to be a fly on the wall in a preproduction meeting just to listen to the process that goes into picking the roster. It’d be fascinating to have that kinda insight into the thought process.

Fair. Two great points there. gave a thumbs up for that
I'd wager considering how well he went over with fans that Tremor has a chance of returning in the future, just like Skarlet. At least, let's hope so.

It would truly be fascinating.
Especially in the cases of curveballs like Frost/Skarlet.

Agreed. Well said.
