Is the 'AI Battle' where all the singleplayer stuff is, like the arcade ladders and Towers of Time?

No the single player stuff are under KONQUER category. There are story mode, and towers in there.
Plus LOCAL fight will have 1P and 2P battles, the classic ones.
AI battle is something different. There was a similar mode in Injustice, now that i am googling it. but it doesnt sound interesting at all...

I am eyeing that "Tournament Mode" sounds awesome. I hope it is both local and online.

Exactly that.

That's still in there. I think with AI your fighters are pitted against someone elses fighters and earn credits. When you kustomize your character, there is an extra tab specifically for the AI battles. There you can determine how your fighter is approaching the fight by sliding different properties.
I think they have "invented" that mode because there were people interested in just having cpu against cpu fights and "bet" on them who would win. So that fills the gap for the people who like that.

That is really stupid idea actually. Why would they waste a whole mode for this?
Buying a game that you dont play, you just sit and watch the AI play? lol

It's not stupid to the people who've been wanting it for years.

Some people just want to sit back and watch the characters battle.

People complaining about "a mode where you don't pay"... umm, isn't that what all those tournaments are about? Watching other people playing and you just watching? Just taping into that market.
