I think it should be R... the games are M. You 13 years olds technically have to have someone buy it for you... why couldn't they take you to the movie or something... 13? that means you were barely 3 when the first one came out.. hmm... I mean I was 8, but still... anyway R would be good, because seeing some of the gruesome fatalities on screen would be excellent.. later

I think it should be R. I was 14 when the 1st movie came out and I couldn't see it. Needed a parent or someone 18 or older...Anyhow...It would be nice to see "Real" fatalities in the movie just like the games. People under 18 shouldn't even have the games unless your parents find it suitable for you. Mine did when they first came out...Only because they didn't really know how gruesome it was...And even still I had the SNES version...anyways...I think it should have more gore

As cool as it would be to have really gorey fatalities in the film, I'm afriad it's never gonna happen. Most of the people who would pay to see the film are under 18 and it's all about money money money....
On a sidenote, I was 11 when I was first playing Mortal Kombat. It was really great days. I remember all the commotion about it. "Parents outraged" read the headlines.

Well to get the games you only have to be 17 not 18. But I don't think they should say "oh it's rated R, or rated PG-13. I think they should just make the movie how they want it, then leave it upto the ratings board.
Although look for a PG-13 release. I think it would be great if they released it on DVD, because they could include a directors cut, with all the added footage, gore, language.... whatever you want in it.

Wierdo! It's Mortal Kombat not Erotic Kombat!
Anyway, they could atleast up the blood level a little, make the kombat EXTREMELY good, which i expect from them and make it worthy of a 16 rating! (UK!) Because ANYONE can get into a 16!

I'm going to have to agree with some people. Mortal Kombat is rated M kiddies. If your parents think you are mature enough to play games like these then you should have the maturity to go see a R rated movie with a 21+ person.
Yet I'm not saying lets have tons of gore for the hell of it. If the gore is justified, then let it be in there. If for somereason if blood is holding back THE STORY, then I say add it. I mean how many people went to go see Terminator 2?
Kids, don't give any BS of not being able to see an R rated MK movie, because you're basically playing a R rated game. If you are not able to see R rated movies, then why the hell are you playing M games?

How could you be 14 when the first movie came out and it was PG-13? Last time I checked, 14 was after 13, so they should let someone who is 14 go to a PG-13 movie alone. They could have gore and loads of violence or they could tone it down like they've been doing, and I still won't care because I would like it anyway.
