Did Sheevas MK9 ending happen? *a few comic spoilers*
Save for the killing Shao Kahn part, obviously, but does that bit in the comics about Kano stabbing a Shokan in a bar mean that Sheeva migrated to Earth with other Shokan?
For those who've read the comic, did that bar appear terran, or was it some Outworld bar filled with various Outworld species?
I wonder if Kintaro's Shokan uprising from the issue #5 preview has anything to do with Kano stabbing a Shokan in a bar, and if Sheeva's involved in that uprising in anyway. She's always been portrayed as the most racially proud Shokan, while Goro was more diplomatic. Kintaro, well, we still barely know him, but his MK9 bio (that was only accessible through hacking if what I read was true) did say he was a gladiator who didn't seem to care much for politics.

Lol Kano returns home to visit Mama and Papa Kano only to find that the Shokan have taken over the continent.
As soon as I saw Kano getting into a fucking barfight with a Shokan, this is the first thing I thought of.
This is some District 9 shit right here, and I love it.
And more importantly, as the official governor and ambassador of the Shokan Autonomous Region in Earthrealm, it'd also give Sheeva something to do. I'm all for it.

If Outworld now has a marketplace, would a pub be out of the question?

It didn't look like an ornamental blade. It was military in style so definitely not a Kamidogu. His eyes were red from rage and pain. Goro's eyes seem to glow in the trailer as well.

That's actually a really awesome theory, but the knife Kano is using is just a regular knife, not decorated in any way. Not to mention that if something like this was actually happening, it would be a sacred ceremony held before heading off into battle, and it probably wouldn't be conducted in some seedy tavern by a convicted felon and a known scumbag.
Also, the Shokans naturally have red eyes. Or at least the Draco lineage Shokans like Goro and Sheeva do; Kintaro generally had yellow cat eyes ever since his first appearance.

LOL! Awesome.
I just mainly replied to this topic to say that Sheeva is underrated.
You know something that wouldn't surprise me? That despite part of her MK9 ending happening, Sheeva herself not only won't return, but she will not even be mentioned, at all.
Another gripe, is that they took away her one accomplishment from the original timeline, killing Motaro, and gave it to Raiden (what a SHOCK! Pun intended). I remember finding it so refreshing, someone who was a villain, a non-human and an enforcer all at once killing someone else who was also all these things, PLUS a boss, and not only that, but that it was Motaro's greatest enemy who killed him, rather than one of the heroes such as Jax. Plus, she went ahead and tried to assassinate Shao Kahn himself, and might have even succeeded if it wasn't for Kano.
She was a badass in the original timeline. But of course, they couldn't even let her keep that accomplishment, nah, we cant have complex and nuanced storytelling where an enforcer kills another enforcer, where a jobber gets one chance to shine, no, only the top players get to do that. Sure, killing Motaro didn't do shit for Raiden's character, but what primarily mattered was that Sheeva was a jobber and had to be be kept "in her place".
Rant over. Such a misused character, and for what? Because players wanted Goro way back then, and couldn't appreciate Sheeva as her own character because they always had to compare her to him, being a Shokan and all? Ugh.

Yes, all of this! They didn't do Sheeva many favours in the original timeline but they screwed her over royally in MK9.
Not hugely relevant but also interesting I think; - though killing Motaro didn't do a whole lot for Raiden's storyline, it was the moment that fucked everything else up. Motaro's premature death led Kahn to appoint Sindel as his general and she did Motaro's job a lot better. Raiden saved Johnny, but he unknowingly sacrificed everyone else to do it. And Sheeva ended up with nothing else to do as a result. Raiden killing Motaro screwed over so many different characters.
As for the Shokan's living on Earth in a District 9 type scenario - I love that idea. Integrating the realms a bit more would do a lot to bring them all, and their residents to life.

I admit I hadn't considered the consequences of Raiden saving Johnny on the others. Interesting. But in the end, it still cost Sheeva her one accomplishment, likely for nothing, as many of the dead heroes are returning anyway. Raiden could have saved Johnny from some random Outworld minion instead of Motaro. That way, Sheeva might have still gotten to kill Motaro, even if it was off-screen again. It even could have been canonically part of her MK9 ending, the act of betrayal that forced Sheeva and some other Shokan to migrate to Earth.
(Not that I want Motaro dead, but if they had to kill him off again, then Sheeva should have been the one to do it)
If Sheeva does return as an ally of Earth, I hope we get some acknowledgement of her past as a minion of Shao Kahn, like some tension between her and Sonya from that time Sheeva was guarding Sonya in the deadpool, also resulting in tension with Cassie.
