Who played the better Raiden? I personally think Lambert did a much better job at playing Raiden in Mortal Kombat than Remar. What do you all think?

No contest Lambert by far. James Remar kind of sucked in the role in my opinion.

James Remar is a great actor and he proved it in movies such like "The Warriors", etc.
Problem is...that Chris Lambert is the Highlander, The Immortal, and he played a lot of infamous and easily recognizeable roles such as Vercingetorix, The virtual guy in Nirvana, The Detective in Resurrection, Beowulf and many other.

On a acting level, I personally think that both Lamber and Reymar sucked hard as Raiden. James would be a great Fujin though.

Lambert on the other hand changed totally the character giving him the infamous wisecrack attitude.

To me, the best Raiden was Jeff Meek from MK: Conquest.

Remar is a terrible movie actor all round. He's only good for theater because of his over-dramatic attention to the craft. He was god awful as Rayden and he was god awful in "The Quest."

"The Quest" was a horrible movie on his own, I don't think you can damn the entire career of a decent actor just because he took part in a bad movie.
Even MK Annihiliation had better fighting scenes than "The Quest".

Thanks Nephrite wink. Remar would have made a awesome Fujin no question. Also thanks for reminding me about Jeff Meek lastfighter89, he was a pretty cool Raiden definitely.

Meek's my favorite Raiden, but Lambert certainly deserves credit for inventing the sarcastic/cynical portrayal in the first place. And he's got a great distinctive look and voice, any role Lambert's in tends to come alive instantly.

James Remar is...one of the most boring actors I've ever seen (or heard. He's voice acted in some stuff I've watched too). I feel pretty confident in saying The Warriors is his only decent performance. I guess people liked him on Dexter, but I thought he was as bland and monotonous as always. I didn't really get into Dexter anyway, stopped watching after the first season.

Good luck finding a single person in the world who thinks Remar was a better Rayden.
Not that he's a bad character, but he doesn't fit Rayden and the entire movie is just such bullshit that not even Dustin Huffman could have performed that script well.

The only real question would be Meek or Lambert. I love both of them in different ways, even though they're both wisecrack Raydens.

Ok I'll change the question: Christopher Lambert, James Remar or Jeff Meek? Who's the better Raiden wow?

This is coming from one of the stuntmen from Mortal Kombat (the people who know me on Facebook know who I am talking about): Christopher Lambert thinks his shit doesn't stink and that he's someone special. So I assume most of the ad-libbed humor was because he's an asshole overall.

I see, so Lambert is one of those people. I also didn't know he virtually did Mortal Kombat blind due to the fact he has myopia & can't see without his glasses, which makes sense why Raiden didn't fight in the movie.

So a guy you don't know posts online in a forum that a supposed stuntman in a movie that came out over 10 years ago didn't like Lambert's attitude, and you assume he's "one of those people"?
that's retarded.

Everybody has bad days. People talk shit about other people all the time, sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong.
WELL IF IT'S ON THE INTERNET I GUESS IT MUST BE THE TRUTH HUH?K.

How about Christopher Lambert's very real foundation for cancer treatment? I guess he's "one of those people". As in, one of those people who actually tries to help the world.

I didn't know he had a foundation for cancer treatment & you are exactly right people do talk shit about people all the time but it doesn't make it right I shouldn't have rushed to judgement on Lambert my apologies.

Neither.

Those Caucasian clowns don't represent what I thought was supposed to be an ASIAN god of Thunder.

Id say Lambert. I really liked his portrayal of Raiden, who is a character i generally hate.

Weird, Sonya and Raiden, two of my laast favourite in the series, portrayed brilliantly in the first movie (Bridgette Wilson was amazing whil Sandra hess is awful in all ways), two of the best things about the movie in general actually.

James Remar...........he is an ok actor, but I wasnt as keen on him after having Lambert in the role. I also think Remar apepars worse than he actually is is cause of the bad development the scriptwriters gave Raiden.

He was always played by a caucasian clown, even in MK1. Not sure why you got surprised.

I know this. But thanks anyway. Doesn't stop me from expecting an asian (or at LEAST half asian) guy playing an asian god role. MK was supposed to have asian mythology in it but maybe I expect too much?
The actor for the sprite could have been albino for all I care. What I see in the actual game tells me another story.

These faces can pull-off being asian esque... so I am not going to complain about the sprite versions of Raiden.

Heeeeeyyyyy....What about Jeffrey Meeks (Raiden AND Shao Khan) from MK: Conquest TV Series, Clancy Brown (aka the Highlander's Arch-rival) from MK: DOTR, Carlos Pesina from the actual classic games, etc?

If you're are talking only the movies, then of course Lambert wins. If you are counting all media, then Jeffery Meeks and Carlos Pesina both have my vote.
