With the "blindfold" covering his eyes and the unusual hump on his back, I'd have thought it was Kenshi training under Dragonball's Master Roshi while trying to imitate MK2 Shang Tsung. I seriously thought all of that before reading your reply.
2/5. If it's not even obvious who the character you drew is, and we have to guess who you're drawing, then it needs work. Seriously, aside from the stance, which is pretty close to how he does his Skull Fireballs in MK2, I wouldn't have been able to tell who this was, especially with the shading around his eyes looking like a blindfold, as well as the shape of his head looking more European, which is why I thought he was Kenshi.
Show us your more recent work instead of digging up sketches. I'm sure you've done much better over the last 16 years.

Straight from in game sprites. Fire up your MK2 and you will see. Was drawn in 1993...

Well, if that's the case, I'd say you shouldn't have switched it up on the coloring - where his pants should be black, you left them uncolored, and where they should be yellow, they're filled in black. Also, his flaming skulls never quite have that rainbow shape to them, if they looked more skull-like I think we would have known who he was more easily.

I'm pretty sure the point is that its a bad drawing from 15 years ago. I don't think he's looking to win any awards, hence the title of the thread.
I don't understand why everyone thinks they have to be a critic 24/7.

He submitted his work; no matter what, it's going to be critiqued. People post their stuff here to show off their work and skills or ask for help, not for the sake of just posting in the forum.
