I recommend getting MK Project 4.1 and then figure out how to install characters and get all of the ones Bleed's created. He's done Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Liu, Kung Lao, and Shang so far.

Other versions of MK for Mugen that I've seen have gaudy looking lifebars and use shadow-effects for like every goddamn combo, whereas MKP just looks like regular UMK3.

One question..... What the hell are Mortal Kombat Mugen games?

Mugen is a freeware fighting game engine that you can create/edit your own characters for. The basic version plays like Marvel vs Capcom, but MK Project is a version programmed to operate like UMK3 and containing MK characters created by fans from sprite rips and edits and such.

Bleed made some wicked cool, detailed edits to UMK3 Scorpion, MKII Shang & Raiden, and MK3 Liu Kang & Kung Lao.

I'm really excited about a project called Mortal Kombat HD Remix. You can read up on it on a TRMK thread (over 250 pages worth of posts). It's about 1-2 years away from completion, according to the team responsible. You can see Scorpion & Sub-Zero (the farthest along), Shang Tsung, and Goro.

i wouldn't say that since you really know very little about mugen or other community projects,the only true advantage that his project has is on the test version of mugen 1.1,give other projects level playing ground and its a different story

with that being said it is a cool,but then again so are others like mkp mk shinobi 4 examples

Is MKP5 still being worked on? I saw some clips a while ago and the combo system looked really fun.

I used to mess around with MKP4.1, I liked editing move properties and input commands in the data files. Ultimately I got bored as I had no one to play with and the AI wasn't fun.

yes it(5.1)is being worked on still,although id say there cant be much left to do by now

mkp 4.1 sucks it was more fo a test on mugens capabilities then a actual solid game.thats why theres so many terrible mk mugen games cuz most are based off this engine.

If anything, its yet another MK game for people to play online with each other, plus its evolved compared to MKP 4.1. Latest features added were kombat kodes and three grooves akin to MK2/UMK3/MK9
