UMK3: Ermac and Reptile Redesigns

For Reptile, I wanted him to have the block-armour on the UMK3 ninja's torso, so in this case I made a pelt with sharpened studs on it that went over his ninja garb to recreate that look. The hints of gold in his outfit is to create some contrast between the various tones of green, black and grey within his general clothing. In this guise Reptile is in no fear of his identity being revealed, having his clawed feet and toes exposed, however since he's a servant of Shao Khan I wanted him to stick to the "loyal masked ninja assassin" look from that era.
Ermac on the other hand, I wanted to keep the the leg stripe and mask from his UMK3 costume and bring more influences from his Mortal Kombat Deception primary outfit into the fray (since that's arguably his best look). Since I wanted him to actually wear a mask to be true to his original costume, I decided against the facewrap but instead made it into a headband which secures his gem onto his forehead to increase his psychokinesis. Around this time in the story he's still quite the enigma, and solely under Shao Khan's command. To show this, I wanted him to appear menacing, mystical, powerful, yet in comparisson to the rest of Khan's warriors: original.

Really great designs, and great drawings. The only thing I dislike is Reptile's head area, the mask is kick ass but his eyes look small/strange and the "Horns" look stupid IMO.
Still, these are badass! MORE!!

Coming from a reptile fan, I appreciate that feedback! :) With his head, I wanted him to have the same facial features as he has in MK9, hence the small yellow eyes that are further away from his nose. The "horns" on the top of his mask were designed to flare up because the smooth headed skull cap looked a bit odd with the design leading up his head (in fact he reminded me of Sub-Zero with it) so I decided to make it flare up slightly to look more like Scorpion's hood from his Deception primary. Was kind of hoping to get a "King Cobra" kind of vibe off his head in general considering the acid spit is his trademark move and Cobra's are known to spit their venom. :)
