You know, I have seen countless "MKII Test Your Mights" in my days... but I haven't seen any MK3 ones. Or at least any that stand out in my mind.

This isn't a Mona Lisa, but in relating to the time period it was released, it is acceptable. Also, props for doing it in MSPaint.

Hey, don't trash the poor guy's fan fic though I don't want my thread to turn into a flame war, I just want some honest criticism so I can get better.

I think he's calling it gay because of the fact that you can only see one of Liu Kang's hands, and that slab of stone is covering the other rather well... Perhaps Liu Kang's summoning his "chi" via unorthodox means.
Now about the fake, I think that the slab and stand are too high, and that the slab should be at his waist. Aside from that, I don't know what else to say exactly, as I'm not a fan of Test Your Might, and it's kind of a boring fake, but considering it's Test Your Might, that's normal. Meh, I tried, I'm sure you could make this thing look better and brighter than using the Armoury. A Test Your Might outside would be a nice change, in front of an audience, like in the Courtyard.
