Smoke Concept

This is my new concept for Smoke. I let him keep his robotic mask and some of the armor and tried to make a new costume for him. Hope you like it and please tell me how I could improve him. Hope you like it.

Hmm... well I just really like this. It has always been my personal opinion if Smoke were brought back he would keep his robot look. Perhaps something between human and robot would be good, but a human rebirth would be impossible since he is already a cyborg. But, I really like this design, gives him that half look I just mentioned.
The head seems to be quite robotic, while still appearing human looking. I am glad you left the 'cables' on the back of his head where hair would be on a person, good touch. I must say this is VERY detailed! The chest design is just excellent. You gave him half of what sort of looks like the older ninja designs had, but gave him the newly popular sash that is growing well used it MK. I'm not sure if those symbols mean anything or not, but they look cool nevertheless. I love how you added Smoke's number to his belt, that was a very cool idea I think.
The arms are done great as well. They seem to be shaded very well, and again you went heavy on the designs, which is always a good thing. You went back to the robot feel again with the gloves, and you added some bands on the wrists, very original idea I believe. Hands were also drawn perfectly here. I also like the weapon, I would prefer him to have something like this instead of a spear or something of that nature. Interesting looking weapon, pretty cool indeed.
Legs and waist don't lack details either. I like the clothes hanging from his waist, good texture on them. And also what you did with the ends, shows you care about the little things. The legs are good, but the right leg seems to be in an odd position, thats really the only thing stopping this from being perfect in my opinion and perhaps the eyes are a little odd, but anyway.. Again, good to see you go back to the robot sort of feel at the ankles. This is very nice.

I love this new concept for Smoke. I will skip what Crow said, only because I cannot say it better.
I, on the other hand, would like to make a couple points of my own.
I am not quite sure how that hand scythe/blade is supposed to operate. It appears that it would be a simple curved blade with a grip inbetween. For some reason though, the hand is in the wrong angle for it to be a straight curvature. The way the two ends attach, I would assume it to be an almost double curvature. One bending on the X-axis and one bending on the Z-axis. If you could post a pick of this weapon alone, maybe with some examples of use in combat, I would love to see it. I have never encountered a weapon of quite this type. And if it is the way I imagined, well I would like to have one crafted by a reputable crafter. Hehe.
The next part is an unsure situation. But it seems to me he isn't wearing any pants/shorts. I would hate for smoke to be a eunic. If I have missed them, then that is my mistake. It is all possible that he is wearing tights. Thus the seam would be under the belt.
Which brings us to the buckle. I love that buckle. I love the fact that you used the 7 with the slash in it for better international accuracy. I was wondering if the letters would look better serif? Just an idea though.
Otherwise, well done. You even made an excellent job of the hands. Which are the most difficult to draw.

Thanks for the comment ShoeUnited.
The weapon is actually supposed to be a curved blade with a grip in between like you said. It's kinda my own design and i had a little trouble making it face the right way when i drew it.
The pants thing is really simple. He's wearing the black thights like the older ninja's did. So under the ninja garments is a black body suit.
Concerning the letters on the belt, what does serif mean? Since English isn't my native language I don't know many of the lesser used words
I do have one question though, is there anybody on these boards that would want to color him in? I'd love to see him in color but i'm not that good when it comes to coloring

Serif is like this:
Note the "tails" on the letters. That's what serif is. As opposed to sans serif; with out the little deals on the ends of the strokes.

Hey don't need to worry about it. But since you got the hash inside the 7 I was wondering if it would look better with all letters being serif. Nothing of a big deal. The least cosmetic of the bunch. I would do it on a clear sheet and compare it is for your opinion only.
