Suit... I've never really replied to many of your posts because I don't like repeating what everyone else is saying... "OMG, LOOK AT THAT, WOW..." By the time I get to look at the pics you submit everyone's said it all and I'm really not one to follow the crowed...

I like the concept of this picture... I like the pose that reptile is in... There's only three problems that I can see... 1st of all, your prespective changes from his top half to his bottom half... The bottom of the body doesn't flow right which leads to the 2nd thing... the bottom of his costum in the front looks disproportioned, so even though he's crowching, it really just looks like you cut him in half or something and that part of the outfit is just way too wide... This could be fixed by resising that or... and this is the third thing wrong with the pic... using some shadowing...
I really would like to see you start doing some shading to your pictures... I know you get people to color them for you but, try doing some of that... Some of the stuff that you can do with proper shading is really 10 times more dramatic than you can do with color...

I don't mean this in any way shape or form to be offensive, but from one artist to another, I have maybe 10 fellow artists that can do what you've done in almost all of your pics easily, I probably could too, but that's not the type of art that I usually do... But the best people that I have been able to work with incorporate shading into their pics too... Try it out, I don't know if you've done it before or not, I'm sure it'll be a bit challenging and enjoyable at the same time...

That is pretty cool. I don't think Reptile sould go back to his ninja form, but it's still well drawn. Good job.

Ive actually taken "life still drawings" for quite some time so shading is pretty easy. I dont like shading for the most part because it kind of makes my hands as well as some parts of the drawing dirty, people say smudges and shading is nice but I dont really like it much. People find it easier to color my stuff when theres less detail so thats why you havent seen any my drawings with unwanted detail. Look at my "Kain" drawing #2 and you'll know what Im talking about. I would really like to see that colored but chances are, it wont be because of the detail.

Do you mean the kain redrawn? I still don't think that that pic has enough shading in it... All I mean to say with this is that shadowing really makes some stuff stand out... Look at the Sub pic that Jax just put up... Lots and lots of shading... though done in color, it still makes the picture come more alive... I was telling Sandspider to do the same thing... your work just reminds me of his but on an anotomically correct form... Anyway, to each is own... No matter what anyone says to me, I probably won't change my art, and I wouldn't expect anything less from someone as estiemed as yourelf...

I must admit, this is not what I expected. When I seen "Ninja Style" in the subject box I was weary, but your originality has once again shown me that a 'ninja style' Reptile can indeed be good. I remember a while back when you posted a submission called "Reptile's New Lord Costume". I was impressed with its originality, but I like this alot more. The pose is very cool looking, it has a very 'reptilian' feel to it, not really human-like at all. Which is good of course, since Reptile isn't human. The bones were a great touch, and working his storyline into his costume was brilliant. The mask is also different from just the standard ninja gear.

I like the way the 'scales' look. I think this would have been a great design for MK4, the stage of his de-evolution would have fit perfect with this design. I like the fact you gave him reptilian hands and feet, the smaller limbs should have looked this way in MK4. His feet look exactly like a raptors do, very good job on that. The accessories are light, I think there are a good amount of those here. The way his the bones are positioned on the bottom of that cloth is probably one of my favorite parts in this. That really was a well thought out idea.

The blade is the only thing that look a bit strange to me, there is something about where it curves back that doesn't quite look right to me. But, this is a good design, 'ninja' Reptile is probably the hardest thing for me to like, and I have to say I really like this design.

Excellent work as usual, Suit.
Just two things:
The feet are a little bit off, you know? Don't quite look natural. As far as I know, all reptiles excluding snakes have more than two big toes.

The second isn't really a criticism of your stylistic choices; I just wish you would have made the pic darker and/or larger so I could get a better look at the detail on his mask.

Other than that, keep it up.

You come up with the coolest ideas. The whole concept is fantastic.

The sword is cool, a little more club like. The face reminds me of the Predator, perhaps you could post a bigger scan so we could make out more detail. My only real quible is the hands and feet. I actually think they are drawn great but they look more like gnarled tree roots than appendages.

Great work. The shading is not a big deal, if you are leaving it so people can color it then this is the best approach. Less is more in that case. As stated before though if you wanted to go with more of a comic shaded style that is still usally easy to color.

Keep up the excellent work.

hey, lovely pic, sorry about the pic i coloured i didnt want to colour all the detail as it was a rush job in which i only wanted to see what the colours looked like on the character. i'd love the chance to colour this one if u'd let me tho and if u do i'd of course show it to u before posting it.

The_Suit, i've been looking at all your work since a long time now...
I'm an old membre of this site, and I must say that no one can pretend to be able to compete with you.
You are, and by far, the most tallented artist in this board.
Did any of the MK-crew or produciing team contacted you so you could... work with them, your ideas are bad-ass!
Wow, continue, lâche pas!

I always hear you making these stories and stuff alongside the pics and i also heard of you drawing a comic... So my question stands as this...
Why don't you ever put some pages or sequences on the sight? You don't have to go through and color it or anything, but just some nice, penciled, comic sequences.
Sure pin-ups are great. But you talk alot about making comics, and i want to see some of that. Because that's what makes or breaks a comic artist... the wordless storytelling.
A lot of people can draw a god damn good picture, you know? But not everyone can demonstrate what i'm wanting to see from you.
And also a lot of people claim to be able to do that... but the product never shows. I'm asking; can you truly draw a comic?
---prove it. I want to see this.

He's right. A lot of people have a hard time portraying action and good dialogue.

This is a good drawing. I like the fact that there is a lot of detail into it. I give this drawing 4 out of 5 Dragons. smile
