I actually like it! I see only 2 problems, the belt, I do not particularly like, it just looks like a frowny face and not a skull. Also, the lines on the mask look like they were done with paint, which they probably were. Overall, nice, 4/5 for me.

I'm trying to get better at custom sprites.

It's actually not bad. My only suggestion would be to add some shading so the accessories on his costume aren't just one color and look extremely cartoony.

I hope to see this design in a future fake at least.

Yes, I agree, maybe some shading on the skull and some shine on the spikes. I would love to see this in a future fake as well!
