MORTAL KOMBAT: Reptile 4

The ninja's had climbed the tree quietly as he had slept. He didn't feel the thick rope wrap around his neck or the removing of his clawed nails from the bark. He was jolted awake by the sudden lack of breath. The ninja's had pushed Reptile over the tree, his feet kicking and dangling above the ground as he gasped for air. The blue and black garbed ninja's had beaten him relentlessly without mercy with steel and wooden bo staffs. He began to black out when he felt the release of the rope. His feet crumbled onto the snow covered ground. He felt the snow bite at his body as they dragged him away.

Reptile breathed, a puff of cold air exhaled from his blood covered mouth. Freezing air rattled through his body as he inhaled. Fresh green blood leaked from his eyelid. His broken index finger ached from numbness. Reptile looked up painful towards the ceiling. His battered hands were chained above his head. Both his arms were swollen with black and blue bruises. Agony burned through both his feet. They were bare and tied to a large block of ice that was lifted a few inches off the ground.

``We found the intruder in the tress,'' A deep voice rang from down the hall.

``We believe it to have been the one Smoke fought when he was looking for the orb,'' Another voice quipped. Reptile turned his head. Tongues of flame flickered in torches that lined the wall of the hallway.

``What did he say?'' A strong low voice asked.

``We didn't interrogate him Master. We thought we'd leave that to you.''

Three ninjas came into the room. Reptile eyed the one in the center. He was ahead, the others behind, following him as he led. Recognition dawned on the leader's face as he approached Reptile.

``Reptile,'' The ninja's voice said coldly. The two other ninjas remained silent.

``Sssssub-Zzzzzero,'' Reptile hissed weakly.

``What does the Emperor's...dog want with the Lin Kuei?'' Sub-Zero asked as he came face to face with Reptile. Reptile bit down on his tongue, refraining from spitting acid at the ninja's face. Sub-Zero seemed to sense Reptile's thought. His hand gripped Reptile's neck. A cold chill clenched his throat.

``It would be very unwise for you to try anything,'' Sub-Zero menaced. The two ninja's behind Sub-Zero stepped forward, a white and blue colored ball glowing in both their palms. Reptile gave a small nod.

``Good,'' Sub-Zero said. The chill stopped as Sub-Zero peeled his hand away, ``Now, slave, what is it that you or your emperor want?''

``Sssshao Kahn hasss ssssent me to deliver a messsssage,'' Reptile's tongue flickered. He choked, coughing blood that had been clogged in his throat to the floor.

``What message?'' Both ninja's behind Sub-Zero asked in unison. Reptile looked at the three ninja's before shifting his gaze. A smirk played at the corner of his mouth.

``Let them sssshow you,'' Reptile answered. Sub-Zero and the other ninjas turned to where Reptile was looking.

A yellow and black dressed ninja stood at the entrance of the room.

``SCORPION!'' Sub-Zero exclaimed, ``HOW DID YOU-?''

Scorpion raised his hand. His fingers clutched the head of a Lin Kuei's clansman, his nails digging into the blank, dead eyes. Blood dripped to the floor. Scorpion tossed it aside. The head rolled on the ground, making a sick squirting sound as it spiraled down the floor. The two ninja's rushed forward in rage. Scorpion stood still without flinching as they closed in.

A black hole opened beneath the two Lin Kuei's feet. Screams vibrated throughout the room as the black hole disappeared before reopening on the ceiling. Two bloody skeletons crashed to the floor followed by the black and blue ninja suits. The black hole floated to the ground and began to reshape. The hole turned into clouds and then into a black ninja.

``Noob Saibot,'' Sub-Zero said, ``Brother?''

The ninja remained silent as Scorpion approached his side. They both jumped into their fighting stances. Sub-Zero moved into his. Sub-Zero ran forward. Scorpion stepped out first, his arm outstretched. A spear linked to a chain sprung towards Sub-Zero.

``GET OVER HERE!'' Scorpion exclaimed as the spear tore through Sub-Zero's shirt. Sub-Zero felt the tip of the spear touch his skin as Scorpion reeled him forward. Scorpion kicked, his foot crashing into Sub-Zero's jaw, sending him into the air. The spear wrapped around Scorpion's arm as the ninja moved towards Sub-Zero. Reptile tore his gaze away from the fight and towards the other ninja at the entrance.

``Sssssaibot,'' Reptile called. Noob turned to the chained ninja. He disappeared into the shadows, and appeared behind Reptile. Noob swiped at the chain breaking it with his hand. The chains released sending Reptile and the block of ice onto the floor. The ice cracked but remained solid as it crashed. Reptile stood on it, his arms immediately coming to his side. He could feel the blood rushing back into his arms. Reptile bent down and started working on his feet. Sounds from Scorpion and Sub-Zero fighting rang in the background.

Reptile jumped off the ice. His feet burned as they touched the floor. Noob wrapped his arm around Reptile's waist and lifted him.

``Scorpion!'' Noob yelled. Scorpion tackled Sub-Zero into the wall. Plaster and debris clustered everywhere as the two ninja's fell through. Scorpion stood over the unconscious Sub-Zero.

``You will die,'' Scorpion said. He raised his hands, fire dancing on them. Noob sprinted towards Scorpion, his free hand extended. His fingers gripped Scorpion's shoulder. The three vanished in a portal of blackness.
