MORTAL KOMBAT: Reptile 2

The mighty Emperor, Shao Kahn, looked down on Reptile. He was seated on his throne, the purple light of Outworld shimmering into the Emperor's chamber, illuminating the room eerily. Reptile's eyes were cast upon the ground, his body bowed. Shao Kahn shifted in his chair, his red eyes gazing at Reptile angrily through his skull helmet.

``You are my top warrior, Reptile,'' Shao Kahn muttered, his voice trembling as he tried to control his anger. Reptile remained silent, his eyes never moving from the floor.

``And you, my top warrior, could not even manage to retrieve a small item. That has been the easiest task I've ever assigned you Reptile and you managed to have failed it. FAILED IT!'' Shao Kahn screamed, his anger bursting. The thunderous sound of his feet vibrated through the ground as he stood from his throne. Reptile's body flinched as Shao Kahn approached his side.

``HOW HARD COULD IT HAVE BEEN TO RETRIEVE A SIMPLE ORB?'' Shao Kahn yelled. Reptile sighed heavily before answering.

``Masterrrrr, it could not be helped,'' Reptile began, ``I wassss a...a....thing. I-.''

Reptile had no time to finish his sentence. Shao Kahn's foot smashed into Reptile's jaw, sending the ninja rolling across the floor.

``I HAVE NO USE FOR EXCUSES!'' Shao Kahn screamed, spit flying from his mouth. Reptile winced, blood dribbling down his lip, his jaw on fire. Shao Kahn took large strides towards the ninja. His massive hand clasped around the back of Reptile's head.

``Masterrr. Please,'' Reptile pleaded trying to push past the pain of his jaw.

``QUIET FOOL!'' Shao Kahn boomed. His hand drove Reptile's head violently into the ground. A sickening crack sounded throughout the room. Reptile squirmed on the floor, a pool of blood gathering around his face. Shao Kahn removed his hand from Reptile's head and stepped backwards.

``Stand,'' Shao Kahn ordered, his voice struggling to gain calmness. Reptile's hands clutched the ground, his fingers shaking. Reptile's feet gripped the ground, his mind and sight swirling in circles. Blood poured down his mouth and nose. Blood slid down in a slow stream from the corners of his eyes. A few teeth were chipped and cracked; a couple of others scattered on the floor. Reptile raised his head, the dizziness wearing off. Kahn will not take my dignity, Reptile told himself as his eyes met Kahn's.

``A gray colored robot attacked me as I approached the orb. He must've known of what I was searching forrrrr,'' Reptile said, his words sounding jumbled. Shao Kahn's eyes narrowed.

``A gray colored robot,'' The Emperor repeated turning his back to the ninja. Reptile painfully nodded.

``Smoke,'' Shao Kahn muttered to himself.

``That was what the robot called himself,'' Reptile quietly added.

``The Lin Kuei,'' Shao Kahn growled. Reptile stayed silent, his eyes furrowed together in confusion.

``DAMN IT!'' Shao Kahn screamed. He turned to Reptile, murder in his eyes. Reptile began to step back, trying to keep his distance.

``They must pay!'' Shao Kahn exclaimed. His eyes focused on Reptile, ``I have a plan for you my warrior.''

Reptile stared at his master. With resent, he replied.

``What is it my master?''

``As of now, the orb is an unimportant matter. You have a new mission,'' Shao Kahn answered, ``You are going to pay a visit to the Lin Kuei. I have a message for them.''

Shao Kahn grinned sadistically.

``But master, an entire clan of ninjasssss...that'll be too much for me to handle alone,'' Reptile said.

``You will not be alone,'' Shao Kahn assured his grin still pasted to his face. A portal opened behind Reptile.

``Do not fail me again Reptile,'' Shao Kahn warned. Reptile was pulled backwards into the portal by a strong vacuum like wind.
