Mavado & Reptile
Artist's Remarks: | |
Reptile is not exactly from MKDA,it's how I wanted him to look in MKDA.That's why he looks "dinosauish".;-)Reptile is a remade sprite of velociraptor from Sega Genesis' game "Jurassic Park".Mavado is a remade sprite of Johny Cage(MK2)and a bit of Kabal.

Mavado is in Wing Chun, so how can the Hookswords be in his hands?

Reptile needs work, as does Mavado.
As for losing less quality when converting to jpeg, use less compression.

C'mon, guys! This is great work too! The point of the fake is not to introduce MK:DA in 2D, but actually represent Reptile in a new role (how he can look by T-Rex). Hey, T-Rex, well done! Your work is truly fan-art!
Great Respect from 7Blades!

Interesting...I dig the concept of making Reppy even more Fafnir. But the sptite ya used just doesn't fit the photo-captured look of old MK sprites. A 'clash of styles', so to speak.
I don't actually hate the idea of using non-MK sprites in fakes. If anything, a real test of editing skill would be in making those sprites look more realistic to fit into the MK world.
Regardless, the Mavado edit is pretty well amalgamated. Coulda put some highlights on his black pants so one could distinguish them from the background :/ Also, the handle on the left hooksword needs some work.
Annoying jpeg optimization stikes again! Decent edit though :)
Heh, Mav's 'bout to get some acid in his pants. No more libido for him..

Well, I won't mention Reptile because as you said he is from a different game.
As for Mavado
I think his top half looks very good.
Although I do think that Johnny Cage is way overused to do Mavado sprites, and in this case his face doesn't look like it has been altered to look like Mavado. The hair looks quite good, but a bit reflective, lol.
As for his bottom half, well, the legs look like sticks, I mean, they are really thin, or at least look it.
The shoes look kinda weird too, a bit like bee hives.
The cape isn't too visible because of the background, but it looks quite good.
A good piece of work really, I like it.
