I was trying to come up with a design for Liu Kang that combined a few elements froml different sources. I gave him a vest and belt similar to his MKX and 2021 movie look, with the colors of his MK11 look. I thought the simpler colors and designs worked better for the humble Monk, but I did give him a little bling with the golden dragon icon on his belt (inspired by MK9). His slacks and shoes were inspired by his MK3 look, with elements of his Battle of the Realms attire, as are his wrist cuffs.
