Jax007s Noob Saibot, Jade, and Kai colored

I recently started learning how to CG art in Photoshop. This is the first CGing I've completed. Ireally liked this piece of Jax007's, and wanted to color it. What do you think? :-D

Okay first of all, I LOVE it.

The drawing itself is awesome! I never saw it before. so 5/5 for that

And the colouring is fantastic. Kicked the crap out of my first attempt at colouring and kicks the crap out of anything I do recently, you gotta teach me! 5/5 for colouring.

What happened to Kai's chest? By no means of bickering, but a scimitar/falchion/tahdzsi with that curve would be..quite, interesting if not completely useless.

I think you have done a wonderful job coloring Jaxs pic (where is him btw, he doesnt post here anymore does he?). I love the colors of Jades 3 part staff and Noob cloak. Awesome!

Nonono... it's a normal scimitar... only the angle it's in makes it look weird

Extremely nice character makeovers/representations. Noob really isnt recognizable here, but that might make a good 3rd alt costume for him in a future MK game. 5/5

Disregarding JAX007's excellent pencils, the coloring here sucks. I mean, its just round and/or airbrushed gradients, really, and thats boring and simple. The only one with any hint of skill in it is ol'Kai, but his is overtaken by the sheer crapiness of Jade's coloring. So, 2/5.

Noob Saibot is the most awsomenessnessness..ness. He looks completly awsome!!!
I think you should try using a light source that's at more of a downward angle.


Have shadow from one body part on another.


Try to keep the darker darks to the areas with the most shadow. That would be the large areas pointing away from the light.

Areas pointing towards the light can use lighter tones all around.

Use a hard edge brush to make shapes separate better and cleaner.


Like I always say, to make your coloring better, try and make it good enough to be able to stand on it's own if you remove the line art.

The light from Jade's weapon on her body is a very nice touch.
