Nah, I don't hate them. I've been playing the game since '92 and I was introduced to it by these characters. I like the Outworld characters, the ones from different races, the magical ones. I guess here you can also include cryomancers (which was the best arc Sub-Zero ever had- and it was in a 3D game!), Gods, sorcerers etc. One of my all time favourites is Rain, son of Argus. I really love what they've done with Ermac in the new game. He's a royal ghoul, may well have been influenced by or influenced himself the period of Ancient Egypt in Earthrealm (man, I'd love to see a spin-of of that). +he's a little bit Kitana's and Mileena's dad.

I just don't like the "Earthrealmers" characters. It's my opinion that they're boring. I don't hate them and I don't offend anyone. I don't see people jumping to the same conclusions as you when someone trash talks a 3D character or when someone makes fun of his/her fans. I think Johnny Cage or Sonya Blade are really really annoying. That's all I say. I don't appreciate that they're "down the throat" protagonists who always outsmart the villain with witty remarks. That's all I'm saying and I'm not trying to offend their fans. My favourite characters have been called much worse, but I respect anyone for their beliefs. It's just that, among intelligent fans such as the posters on mko, I don't expect them to fall for NRS'cheap trick of the Cages being sooo witty and intelligent. "You got Caged!"...Please....

Or maybe I'm not that intelligent and I can't see what you see, a hidden meaning behind some bull**** dialogue some je**-offs came up with

Even I can agree that Cage can sometimes be annoying, as he always gets the last word with witty remarks, although apart from a lot of that, I find most of his dialogue entertaining, because it differs from all the seriousness the other characters have, like Raiden with his godly perfection, or Shinnok thinking everyone's an insolent pest, or Scorpion and his rage. Johnny's witty remarks offer humor that a lot of the other characters seem to lack.
