Yup. Jax was a Revenant while the Jinsei Chamber was under attack. When he was freed from Quan Chi's control, Jax chose to leave the Special Forces to focus on his family. But when they called him back into action, he willingly marched back into the Netherrealm and beat the crud out of Quan Chi and his goons. Fujin, for some reason, went on vacation b/t Shinnok's first invasion and his resurgence 25 years later.
Fujin was supposedly going to factor into Jax's chapter at some point.

Yes, he was supposed to help lead the charge into the Netherrealm with Jax and Kenshi which is I guess why they set up him checking on the Netherrealm during the comics run. So there's no real telling what he was doing during that time. Like most NRS storytelling, he probably disappeared like the rest of the characters as they couldn't think up a good reason for him to be doing anything despite the fact he's active in the timeline, same reason most of the revenants come and go and most aren't even involved in the final chapter what-so-ever.

The whole ending with Sub-Zero raising and riding ice dragons kinda reminds me of the PS3 game, Lair, which sadly, was not very good.
You're right. I did call you obnoxious. And then you cried about it.
But seeing as you asked so nicely, I voted Sub-Zero.

Yes, I did cry about it. In fact, it kept me up at night. It was the evil that haunted every dark corner of my mind. It would never rest, and neither would I!
No. If you're going to swing at me, I'll swing back, mate.

Sub making it super far every single year. Dude was borderline irrelevant in the last game and he's been lesser in general on the new timeline. But people vote the yellow mascot out early and the blue one always continues on. It's okay, I guess. Just wish it didn't make each year of this feel so similar. Oh well, still hoping for a surprise or two.

Voted Mileena. She grew a brain and actually had something to do in MKX.
Meanwhile, Sub-Zero's most memorable contribution to the story was...pouring a cup of tea.

I agree, classic timeline SZ is the character I picked, when I was introduced to MK and new timeline SZ just pales in comparison.

The off-putting fact that THE GRANDMASTER SZ would choose to avoid a confrontation with Shinnok makes him instantly unlikable. Did SZ really not understand that all of Earthrealm's life force was at stake at the time? Outworlders could have simply been slowed down or handled by his trained reinforcements.

It's actually hilarious how much it bothers you that I called you out for being a prat. I thought you Scots were supposed to be thick skinned. Sweet Harry Potter gif btw. That's the epitome of internet toughness right there.

Nice job stereotyping, you Kiwi.
Oh, and I'm DEFINITELY trying to look tough when I use a Harry Potter gif. That's exactly what I was aiming for. Totally not because I like the Weasley twins or anything.

The Quarter Finals! Smoke has known death all too well. Recruited into the Lin Kuei, he used the powers of an enenra to serve their ends until they turned on him. Defeated during the Outworld invasion, he came to serve new masters in the afterworld of the Netherrealm! Noob Saibot was also once a Lin Kuei warrior, whose command of ice earned him the mantle of Sub-Zero. Slain by his nemesis Scorpion, he too was sent to the Netherrealm to be reborn a revenant. Both have remained in the shadows, but who will emerge?... FIGHT!
Noob. I've never been fond of Smoke.
Wait, does him enjoying Cage somehow make him unintelligent?
How come whenever it's two 2D characters you don't announce who you voted for? Do you really hate the 2D era that much? Is there a single 2D character that you like?

Joke's on you. Johnny Cage won MK9 and the new timelines version of MK4. He has a sense of humor AND is a legitimate champion. He would be a great finalist and 2016 MKX champ!
Disappointed to see Mileena get eliminated. She has never had a better argument than now. The comics really complimented one of her best versions in MKX. Mileena vs Johnny Cage would have been a really good fresh MKX relevant final match. Anybody complaining about the same finalists every year that voted Sub kinda screwed themselves out of a good change.
Smoke vs Noob is the one match where there's no good winner. These guys are non factors in MKX. Nobody has or will make a compelling case for them in 2016. They are less relevant than Fujin right now. I would have liked to see Triborg, Reptile or Sonya taking on Kotal Kahn or maybe Reiko (for the comics). What can you do though? Just gotta vote.

Cage has quickly become one of the MVPs of MK. How can you deny this? Since MK9 he's arguably the most important cast member in the story and his personality encapsulates everything about modern MK dialogue that people love. He's a great character, and he always has been.

Voted Noob.
As I said before, Bi-Han is the best character in MK history. Smoke is up there in terms of legacy though and I hope both of them return in future MK installments.
I actually dusted off my PSP tonight so I'll play through Unchained with Noob-Smoke for old times sake.

Nah, I don't hate them. I've been playing the game since '92 and I was introduced to it by these characters. I like the Outworld characters, the ones from different races, the magical ones. I guess here you can also include cryomancers (which was the best arc Sub-Zero ever had- and it was in a 3D game!), Gods, sorcerers etc. One of my all time favourites is Rain, son of Argus. I really love what they've done with Ermac in the new game. He's a royal ghoul, may well have been influenced by or influenced himself the period of Ancient Egypt in Earthrealm (man, I'd love to see a spin-of of that). +he's a little bit Kitana's and Mileena's dad.
I just don't like the "Earthrealmers" characters. It's my opinion that they're boring. I don't hate them and I don't offend anyone. I don't see people jumping to the same conclusions as you when someone trash talks a 3D character or when someone makes fun of his/her fans. I think Johnny Cage or Sonya Blade are really really annoying. That's all I say. I don't appreciate that they're "down the throat" protagonists who always outsmart the villain with witty remarks. That's all I'm saying and I'm not trying to offend their fans. My favourite characters have been called much worse, but I respect anyone for their beliefs. It's just that, among intelligent fans such as the posters on mko, I don't expect them to fall for NRS'cheap trick of the Cages being sooo witty and intelligent. "You got Caged!"...Please....
Or maybe I'm not that intelligent and I can't see what you see, a hidden meaning behind some bull**** dialogue some je**-offs came up with

Noob.
Sorry Smoke - I love the fact that his origin has been delved into. It makes him very interesting overall, but the Bi Han/Noob revelation stands out as one of my favorite story arcs of MK, and Noob was one of the best characters all around in MK9. They took a joke secret character (who truly was a joke with the inverted developer names) and turned him into a key player.
