Shang Tsung all the way. Original villain, original sorcerer, the ability to play as the first game's boss in the second game, the most shocking twist in the game in killing Liu Kang (even if it was retconned), all the cool looks he's had, the shape-shifting, the skull juggles... He's one of the best characters in this series and I can't wait to see what they do next with him.

Kenshi is a great 3D era character, probably the best one. He and Ermac still feel like a slight overlap, but they've done a good job differentiating them. He's a good character, but not really elite tier to me. Just my opinion though. Curious to see how his story with Takeda plays out.

Shang Tsung represents the core of the MK mythos, back to the days of Mortal Kombat 1 when it felt more rooted in Chinese Martial Arts cinema. He'll always be my favorite boss.

I love Kenshi too - my favorite character to come out of the 3d era. I just wish he had a little more to do in the MK mythos than what he's been doing lately. I enjoyed his personality in MKX, and I hope to see the Shang/Kenshi backstory developed more in a future game.

Well, my vote's obvious but the reasoning behind it isn't.

Initially, I was going to vote for Shang because he's my favorite villain of the franchise and I'd like to see him continue on but the way he's been mishandled imo so far this timeline has been rather off-putting. I'm hoping when he eventually comes back they give him something really, really cool to do and worthy of his reputation.

How did Jax make it this far? What's special about him? He's just a human soldier with metal arms. Boring. No magic involved, no thousands of years of backstory, no foreign unique realm to relate him to...

Fujin's a rare flower, but Jax is trash? Ha ha! I don't think so!

I kinda got behind Fujin last year because his appearances in MKX were cool and I really could not believe he wasn't a playable character, but it is over. Fujin is not happening. He's just the guy who once again did not make the cut. His design was pretty boring and he was not much more than a cameo.

Jax on the other hand is a beast. I love his chain combos and that powerbomb! He looks better than ever with his chunky new arms. He had some great moments especially fighting with Sindel and getting on Johnny about his daughter. He was great as the grizzled veteran even though I prefer him as MKs top soldier. The revenant version of Jax was the best of all revenants with the purple and those crazy ass spikey arms. I love that theme for MKO.

Maybe Fujin will make it next time but right now it is all about Jax!

Wow, that last match was close. Glad Kenshi made it, though ever since MK2011 I started liking Shang a lot more than before as he is incredibly fun to play as in that game.

Not everyone in MK is nor has to be magically infused or from another race. Sonya, Stryker, Kung Lao, Kano... all human Earthrealmers without any magic or longevity, but still Trilogy-era originals who have made several appearances. They are just as badass as the Kitanas, Scorpions and Shang Tsungs of MK

Voted Fujin, however, because i need to show my love for the underutilised wind god. He really should have been playable in more games than this by now. MKDA & MKX would have been perfect opportunities for his inclusion in the playable roster.

Final: Kenshi Vs Fujin Again

Fujin has gone from "man I wish they had put him in Deadly Alliance" to "man I wish they had put him in Deception" to "man I wish they had put him in MKX". Sure he has potential, but if that's all that mattered, Khameleon might as well be the reigning champ.

Sorry man, I don't want to offend you, but all of those you mentioned: Sonya, Stryker, Kung Lao, Kano are annoying. There's nothing special about them (maybe with the little exception of Kung Lao) and I wouldn'mind if they never appeared in any other game. I don't k ow who would miss them, they're just ordinary humans with lame plots, while Sonya exceeds boredom and goes into abnoxiousness by being used as the face of feminism. I'd take wizards, gods, outworlders, demons, creatures from other realm etc any day over these puny humans.

Hate Fujin. Predicting this overrated, worthless character is going to win again.
