Ermac. Why anyone would vote for Sareena is beyond me.

LOL I pretty much agree. I would like to know more about Sareena and take a step forward in her story but it hasn't happened and in MKX she was just a nice cameo. Nothing more. I don't like the new Ermac but he's still a good character. More than just a cameo.

Sareena has Tremor syndrome - never been playable in a mainstream game (not counting armageddon or mkda turbo ultra edition for game boy). So she's getting landslide votes. If she had made the cast of MKX or made it as DLC she wouldn't have even made it past the first round.

Ermac - he's finally not ninja enough to be considered his own character, and has one of the most gruesome fatalities in the history of violent gaming.

Anyone who doesn't vote for ninjas lacks of testosterone, has zero pride, is a pathetic wimp, is totally a loser.

I'm not much more fond of Armageddon than anyone else, but how does it not count?

Don't mind him. He's mentioned something similar about half a dozen times already. It's his go to justification. I'm pretty sure he's just a broken record at this point; already going after Sareena in a previous round (along with Fujin, Tremor, Havik, etc.). I guess he believes if a character wasn't in MKX they shouldn't be voted for. Potential apparently isn't allowed for consideration while voting.

I believe his elitist views dictate that Armageddon "doesn't count" because everyone was included in that game. Ergo: there was nothing special about [insert rarely used character] so their appearance is meaningless.

I take joy in the fact that Tremor's inclusion bothered him so much he made his signature about it.

At the end of the day it's all opinions. I personally hate Ermac. He started off OK but I don't know what he is anymore. Mumm-Ra from the Thundercats? Scarecrow from Batman? I cannot stand the Delta Bravos who call him a "mystic." It's one of the douchiest, hipster names a character could possibly have IMO. A generic catch-all for when you don't have a proper term for him. I prefer Kenshi's telekinesis.

I voted Sareena, and although I need no justification for doing so, it's partly because I'm an unapologetic Sub-Zero fanboy. I really enjoyed her role in Mythologies, and much to Frabn's chagrin, I think she has a lot of potential both in the story and in game play.

Ermac is overrated. He looks cool, but his story and his MKX move sets don't really do much for me. He's basically to souls what Skarlett is to blood (in a way). He's cool, don't get me wrong, and I loved him in MKD and liked him a lot in MK9, but now I think I could go a game without the original telekinetic. I'm really not that sure why he makes it so far in this tourney each year, but to each his own, I guess.

Voted Sareena. She'll lose, but I see more potential in her going forward, whereas Error is kinda trending downward a bit for me.

Plus, Sareena is past the "they've got potential" angle now. She doesn't have much going for her anymore and it's time for NRS to either shape up or ship out.

First - pull your head out of your ass. If you had actually read ANY of my previous posts, instead of just knee-jerk reacting like a child to this one post, I wouldn't have to make you look like the absolute ass that I'm about to.

1) I'm ALL FOR characters with potential. Havik is one of them. Sareena is one of them. Frost. Li Mei. Nitara. Hotaru. Fujin. All underutilized characters. All sidelined in favor of repetitive cast members who honestly had no place on the roster in MKX (Kang, Kitana, Kung Lao, Goro) other than to appease tournament players(the monks) or capitalize on day one DLC pre-order nonsense (Goro). Sareena, Fujin, Havik, Noob, Li Mei all could have occupied those slots, and didn't. Yet again, characters with potential were wasted.

2) Sareena beating out established characters like Kung Lao and Ermac who have long been fan favorites with tremendous following speaks volumes - people want to see the character in a mainstream game. However, most of the voting is only for "I want to see them in there!". I'd love to see Sareena. LOVE to. She deserves a spot, especially now (Netherrealm invasion, but NO Sareena as playable character??). The problem is, this fickle fan base clamors and wants and pines, then bitches and moans when they receive.

3) Tremor never had potential - he was a brown ninja. Popular only because ninja. I actually thought he was GREAT in MKX. One of the best DLCs hands down. His story is lazy, ending unimaginative and pandering. He has potential now that he's been in the game. He was ONLY in the game because of a loudmouthed fan following, that only followed him because ninja. See the pattern? You can be glad about my sig - you're the type of person it specifically addresses.

4) Elitist? Realistic, kid. I've been playing MK for 20+ years and have been part of this community since the beginning. I know the fan-base better than anyone here that isn't an admin.

5) Armageddon doesn't count because it's just Mortal Kombat Trilogy 2. No character had an individual story, and all the endings were the same - "Soandso beat Blaze, got all his power, but died because they couldn't handle it/became a god themselves/pooped and fell asleep." Armageddon was a lazy ass game in many regards, and an "all characters ever" showcase - like Tekken Tag. Even the two "new main characters" haven't even mattered in the new timeline. Not a legit entry to develop the character(s) in any respects.

6) "It's all opinion in the end" and yet here you are shitting on me because I have opinions. Way to contradict yourself.

7) "Much to frabn's chagrin" - read above. I'd love Sareena to make it in to a future game. I'm also a huge sub-zero fanboy and not at all ashamed of it. We have many things in common. Stop jumping to conclusions. I just don't think, given this fan base's fickleness, that she'd even make a vote if she was actually in. Plus, she's gone up against characters I like better (even if I hate trying to use Ermac in MKX and MK9)

wow interesting... Tell me more. Tell me about the characters that went to the finals. 5 chars among more than 64 is A BIG VARIATION (the last one is an exception). U should not be offended because I want warn ppl to give oportunity to another characters that deserves too. And that's my opinion.

Lady in Purple, yes. Khrome, no. We have enough ninjas now I think. lol

But...it's canon. Mk9 began with Armageddon's conclusion. The battle happened. All the characters, including Sareena, were involved. Taven and Daegon are referenced in Kenshi and Takeda's endings.

I absolutely agree that it was the most ham handed, shoddy, and overall poor attempt at tying up the original timeline...but it happened.

And as an aside. Isn't the community's constant shift in character preference the whole point to something like this tournament?

I absolutely despise the mummy look they have going on for Ermac. He looks awful. And him floating makes it awkward to play with. So basically, they took a really amazing character with a nice design from MKD-MK9 and turned him into a complete fail for MKX. I am probably in the minority, but I hate this new Ermac.

Kenshi. I've enjoyed playing as him in every game. Shang Tsung's also been fun, but Kenshi's been more fun.

Gonna go Shang. Even though he was portrayed pretty terribly in MK9's story mode, he was still a blast to use and I loved being able to finally play Old Man Shang. I always felt like it was a bit odd that he was basically cast aside after Quan Chi entered the picture. Maybe with him dead we'll see Shang return to his former glory in MK11.

Kenshi's a fine character, but I really dislike how he plays in X. I felt like his gameplay in 9 was fantastic aside from needing a few nerfs. He was also just kind of there in X's story mode, not really doing a whole lot of importance, but it was nice for him to finally get a voice and the return of that sweet MK:DA outfit.
