I'm not a fan of this render at all. They could have done so much more with it.

Aside from very minor differences (Namely the lack of seam-like segments on Batman, and his longer, shoulder-draped cape and slightly longer ears in the drawing), those are pretty much the very outfits you're getting. The only thing the drawing does is give them a somewhat darker tone, which I suppose would be nice to have conveyed in a Mortal Kombat game. Maybe the in-game atmosphere and so on will make them look darker?

That's what i'm trying to say tho the feel of that picture is what I atleast wanted.

Here, I did some modifications, mostly with the color scheme and a little with the face (his mouth and chin are way too long for his face). I didn't even make it all black. What do you guys think?

sub-zero's outfit is the best so far. but batman looks bad, dark fits better on him obviously, this is his worse suit, no wait... batman forever suit sucks more!!! the nipples were riddiculous.

I like Garlador's version better. the one thing I have against the render is it's so bright. Boon said the game was gonna be dark but so far I'm not seein' it.

I didnt notice it until now. He looks way too bright. Garlador's is very well done and what the misway team should strive to do.

How about trying to make a game that they want to make? That worked pretty well for the early titles in the series, and even Shaolin Monks.

This one's on par with the Sub-Zero. It's a good design, bad graphics. I guess that's enough to get the job done though, eh?

It's probably worth remembering that this is an image with fairly flat lighting, and isn't lit even in the version with the background. You could assume in-game graphics are going to be more dramatic, even if it's fair to say this Batman could still use some colouring improvements.

Well, I think batman doesn't look "dark" enough. And the render is just ok, nothing special.

I'm starting to think "dark" should join canon in the list of words MK fans overuse and probably don't understand.

Only because apparently those are things the MK team doesn't understand either. Batman's render looks like he's standing in front of a flood light. Now, I'm sure there'll be more dynamic lighting in-game, but when you release a publicity render like that, you want to make sure it looks as good as it can be. I think he looks too bright. Batman SHOULD be darker, more in shadows, with darker clothing as well. It reflects who he is. So, yes, "dark" is how he should be. He doesn't have to be "edgy" or "gritty" or "black as night", but he should be dark, and I too don't think he looks dark enough.

... though my main beef is his Jay Leno face and chin. Seriously, his entire mouth area is stretched out.

It looks exactly how he’s supposed to, the traditional but it also has a bit of an armored look.

If a Gotham Rooftop is in, since the stages are supposedly merging, it would make sense for the MK3 Rooftop.

*sigh* this render could have been 100 times more cooler and some of you still wouldn't appreciate it simply because it's a DC character. personally, i think that it's a great render.....not to say that i wouldn't mind seeing his all-black costume as an alternate. but listen, we're all MK fans here and i suppose that it's natural to be a little cold towards characters of an "invading" franchise. but try to be a little more conservative towards Team MK's efforts. like it or not, this is our next Mortal Kombat...and it just might be the greatest one we've ever played. my 2 cents.

I think the render is fine. Actually, it's one of my favorites. But that still doesn't mean I'm happy with it. Just going by my edits, I think the render would've looked much better with a darker color palette, a restructured mouth and jaw, and less ambient lighting.

I complain not because I hate DC characters "invading" MK. Quite the oppposite; I complain because Batman is a dark, moody, and iconic character, and his character design should reflect that. I don't get the vibe from the current overlit, bright gray version on display now. The rest, however, is "super" (no pun intended.)

Don't get me wrong, I like this render. But he looks like an action figure. Superman's skin looked a lot more like real skin, and he had real eyes. Batman has a better suit, but that is inherit in the design.

as far as i can tell, we have mortal kombat vs the spandex universe.
batmans costume couldnt be more boring. everyone pray for alt outfits. where's the grit i heard so much about?
