There are lots of free translation sites on the internet, but when it comes to Japanese I can only find the writing symbols, when what I want is the phoenetic english.
Does anyone know of a free translator that does Romaji - English?

It's really not that hard. Hiragana and Katakana are very simple to learn and memorize. In fact, the sounds each of the characters represent are just variations on five basic sounds. Hiragana and Katakana are exactly the same except they change the characters a bit.
As for your question though, I don't know of any site or program that can do this. You could just as easily though buy yourself a Japanese/English dictionary... There should be one in your local book store.

I'll just have to install the Japanese language pack then.

The official Windows East-Asian language pack is only around 250 MB anyway.

So, I can get it online? Someone said I had to get a disc.
The ones you get online are pretty crap, really. You'd want the official Windows one (I'm assuming you use a Windows OS of course).
Start - Control Panel - Regional and Language options - Languages
In here, tick the "Install files for East Asian languages" box, and proceed.
NOTE: You will be prompted to insert your Windows CD (just the regular OS disc i.e. Windows XP Home) as the files are only on these discs.

That's why. Don't have the windows disc. This computer is second-hand.

Well, what OS do you have? You could just borrow the disc from a friend with the same OS as you if you want it badly - It will still work.

Oh, it's no problem. I know what to do now. Thanks.
