Killer Instincts Black Orchid weapon of choice - Light Sabers or Tonfas?

Hey all Killer Instinct fans! ^^
I am writing a fanfiction intro story about Killer Instinct 3, as in my interpretation of how the game could be like, should the series ever have a comeback (which would be a dream come true for me), and as the main female protagonist and my favourite character of the series, I will of course start out with Black Orchid.
However, I have already bumped into a problem. I am rather indecisive about what weapon she should have. In the first Killer Instinct, Orchid wielded a pair of light sabers of sorts which were really cool, but in the sequal she had traded the sabers into a pair of tonfas which I also found really cool. I love both her fighting styles and can't decide which she should use in my story.
So therefore I am asking you guys, the trustworthy users of MKO who I know also have some KI fans amongst them. Here's some pictures for reference:

Edit: As a third choice, Orchid could have a whole new weapon... But then the question would be, what kind of weapon and how would it work? Also, why would she use a whole new weapon? Feel free to share your ideas. ^^

Why not both? I don't know her story, but maybe she could use both weapons depending on the situation. It's not uncommon, look at Scorpion (sword and spear), Link (sword, hammer, bombs, nuts, hookshot, boomerang, etc), Stryker (night stick, grenades, taser, guns)...
Or you can have the best of both worlds and giver her LIGHT TONFAS that can become SABERS at a whim!

Personally, I prefer that she has one set of weapons of choice, like Kitana has her fans and Mileena has her sais. I see what you mean though, but unlike Scorpion's, Jade's and Stryker's weapons, Orchid's weapons is too alike in terms of use, except the light sabers have more reach.
Light tonfas you say then, huh... That's food for thought indeed. I'll have to sketch out how they would work though. :P
