If you had the chance to make MK Armageddon, would you have not made it an MK Trilogy type game, and went with an ALL NEW MK GAME instead?

I was just wondering if you had to make a whole new game instead of MK Armageddon, what type of game it would have been?

I would skip trying to bring back all new characters and making it a MKT type game.

Instead, I would make it kind of life MK Deception or even MK Deadly Alliance, and bring forth some older characters with a mix of some ALL NEW characters.

So, so you agree with the MK team making MK armageddon, or would you have made a new game? Tell me which you would do and tell me why. Thanks.tongue

No, it was fitting to have a MKT type of game because it's the last in this generation.

MKT had 32, MKA has 64 including KaK - that is exactly double, which is much more than 5

I would have made an all new game, but I understand why you guys want a Trilogy. It raps the series and brings the current storyline to an end.

I would decide on a mix of both concepts. I'd have all the series' characters, since this would be about closing up all of the past chapters. BUT I would have given it a more engaging storyline, and better presentation that would lead to not to one huge battle, but separate battles of different characters and their sworn enemies. I'd also include the traditional ways of Fatalities and given it at LEAST the image endings instead of those boring-ass kata endings.

The idea was fine as it was. Except they didn't do what they said they would do. The story was not tied up.

It would only make sense to have had Armageddon turn out the way it did.

I'd do almost everything the MK staff did BUT I'd have the characters bios in the game, I'd give the KAK a serious upgrade with the selection of moves, outfits, and other stuff, then I wouldn't have the endings as those lame katas I'd just have it like how the endings were in MK4, the last thing I'd do is not to rush everything and end up having a character missing on two systems that the game came out on (like they did with Khameleon).

Because Godd won Deception in my fake MK game, Havik is evil, so he wants to stop good, but the evil characters have mostly different bosses.

honestly, i love the idea of having all characters and its deffinately possable to have all that content and still an in depth fighting game, but i think i want the deadly alliance/ deception days back.

i loves looking at shadows on the select screen before and just after release and wondering and hoping that sektor was one of them, i remember there was a huge issue in MKD, before noo and smoke became Noob-smoke, they were to seperate characters with they're own shadowed spots on the select screen, noob was at the very right, i think middle row, smoke was on the right side closer to the middle, forget which row, anyways. back then no hidden characters were confirmed, so everybody was like "24 spots, god my char better be in there"

anyways, i remember there was this huge dispute between a shit load of mko against another group of mko arguing 2 ways:
-my team - voted the shadow that ended up being noob was sektor

-other team argued smoke for a while because his new form had not been shown yet

and there were a few stragglers that thaught it was noob but we diddnt care, lol, we were wrong.

it even went so far as this guy photoshopping an image of sektor on the select screen which looked amazingly real and had me convivince that his "inside source" leaked him the image.

lmao, omg the old days were killer. i want them back. 20-30 characters playable(including unlockables) along with bios, and KEEP US WAITING FOR MORE!

You made Havik evil? That kind of messes things up with the gray-area aspect of the Order/Chaos conflict.

The idea of having different alliences having different bosses is pretty cool.

Tekken normally has subsitute bosses, such as if a boss (Which is playable) was selected in arcade mode then a replacement boss would be fought instead.

This occured in MK4 but it could have happened in Unchained with Shao Kahn replacing Onaga or Goro replacing Noob-Smoke or something.

Even in Armageddon, Blaze cant' beat Blaze, thats just dumb. Even if it was Taven or Daegon at the end... make them broke when the CPU played them or something. Also if you picked Taven you should fight Daegon instead of the 6 random boss characters, and if you chose Daegon then the same treatment but with Taven (and have it out on the Edenia stage just for Konquest sake).

Tekken 5 had a great fusion of a regular 1 player fighter mode plus a storymode in the same mode, so it was like a journey or Konquest but didn't involve too much tedious RPG. Mortal Kombat should have done that for Armageddon, if not for the next game. If the ability to select your character in Konquest is that hard to do then just feature a story battle mode.

And theres nothing wrong with Armageddon having all the characters because like it was said above, it was an end of an era. The only new characters (plus 2 returning) were not playable, and it's not like they didn't have any secrets still.

Although I will say this now I prefered Deception to Armageddon, what was Armageddon playing at when they took away 1 fighting style and left us with only 1 stance and a weapon?

And after all that they didn't even give Moloch a weapon, stupid.

Here's what I would have done...

A blend of Trilogy and a new game all together.

Characters - I would have kept all the 63 characters but given them all new or updated costumes. If time were a problem for that, then give them at least ONE new costume and include an old one. The special moves would have been entirely redesigned though. How hard is it really to just change the texture of the projectiles, adjust sounds effects, etc.

Finishers - If time was a problem, then I wouldn't have lazied out and made KAF. Instead I would have given characters simple 1 all-new fatality. One is better than nothing, and KAF was pretty much nothing.

Story - I don't see why bios weren't included in the first place. I mean it's just a bunch of ideas slapped into text. How hard could it be. True, with so many charactes it would be challenging to make a coherent plot that involves them all in some way and has them interconnected with each other, but it would have been possible still with the given time. Writing for a video game is not as time consuming as programming is at all.

Fighting Styles - Add moves to the fighting styles and/or make new combos out of the current moves. The styles returned with little or no changes and that was boring. I would have liked 3 fighting styles per characters since that has been the tradition, but if time were a problem then fine. Leave it as 2 but do some modifications here and there.

Gameplay - At least THAT had new things to it. Wake-ups, parries, and air combat. I think I would have just made an effort to tidy those things up though. Unsloppify the air combat, make the parries work better, make the wake-ups look better, etc. At least an effort.

Other Features - I think KAK, Motor Kombat, and Konquest could have used a lot... but I mean a LOT more. I would have focused more on the main game though, instead of the side modes if time was very limited. To me, it feels as if KAK made up for the main part of the game, and I find that pathetic.

Basically, I would have kept MKA's Trilogy concept the same except I would have added much more novelty. At least one new costume, one new fatality, the bios, the modified moves, etc.
