onaga is easy with most of the characters, grab the homidogus if you. need help

Lol Onaga sucks!! It's way too easy to beat him, even on the highest difficulty!
He's the weakest character in the game, although he can do a lot of damage, anyway, you could try doing combos', using weopons, using special moves, dont try picking him up with characters it wont work..
You could also dodge, or duck from his attacks.

Abuse Lui Kang's bicycle kick. For some reason it is highly effective on him even though it should not.

(i did this with 2 rounds)

first round:walk into a kamidogu and get up 2 him and pull off ur best comba.repeat 3 more times

2nd round:same as first

3rd round:oh crap.ijust block pull off the best comba and hope

marxzero liu kang deals double damage too onaga so that would be why

But mainly talking about characters that don't really have combos or weapon combos like Noob-Smoke or Milleena and others.

ah.noob-smoke.i just cheezed the living hell outta him with teleport attax.

and i used mileenas longest sai komba.hotaru...ill have to think bout that

i got a flawless victory in just 2 mins with sub-zero,just keep using his biggest branching combo after braking one of the kamidogus,it does alot of damage

When facing the Dragon King, you must duck, and hit, otherwise he could grab you and take you in the air and toss you, also duck his fire blast moves. You could also hit the Komidogues in the arena, which will help you a little bit. Overall try staying away from him, use lots of combos, and attack quickly, you should beat him.

block, attack, and repeat. just like with Moloch

you could always try not totally sucking at deception.

Ya a lot of people say something like what i do. I just attack him with my fastest combo and hit the kamidogu only if i'm really close cuz i can usually beat him without hitting any of them

It really depends on who you use when you're fighting him.

The best advice I can give, for someone who doesn't have a lot of stronge combo's , is -- use their "Into-Weapon" combo's. Those seem to do the most damage, or juse use their weapon for that matter.

Of course, hopefully you know before you attack Onaga you should walk into one of the Kamidogu's so that it will give you a free attack on him -- and your attack will cause more damage.

Oh yeah, try avoiding him until you hit a kamidogu, unless you have a really clean shot on him, he'll most likley grab you or bust out his 1-2-punch on you. It's really annoying, but try not to stay too close to the edges...Or he'll kick you off... Just be cautious, and try to do your major attacks after you have walked into a Kamidogu.

Just back away keep your distance break or grabe the kamidougos and when you break them he will be stuned for like 3 second that when you do your biggest combos on him

you just need to hit him with multi hit attacks like bike kick and grasshopper and bike kick.

also kabal's hooksword's back+attack 1 works well

Well here are ways:

1. Take the Kamidogu's

2. Use your weapon

3. Emit Combos

4. Low Attacks

And if you are Liu Kang, or Hotaru:

1. Take the Kamidogu's

2. Use the Bicycle Kick and the Grasshopper Kick.

If you are Baraka, use his Mutant or Chop Chop Blades, it works well.

Also:

1. Keep your distance

2. Just use the side step or evade to dodge his long range attacks.

3. I find that power and pop-up attacks do some good damage to set up another attack. (Even though you can't pop him up in the air)

Onaga is kinda a different case since you can't juggle him which makes you have to use a diff combo strategy...

Characters with long style branching combos will do the best against him like Jade, and Ashrah. Even characters like Scorpion and even Sub-Zero are some of the best to use against him because their long combos, while not real strong, will do lots of damage because of the kamidogus.

The characters that will have the hardest time against him are those that don't have any long ground combos, you need to be doing at least about 33% each time. Characters that will have the toughest time against him are characters like Mileena, Nightwolf, Hotaru, etc. because of their ground combos.

BTW something I noticed, Onaga's defense increases on higher difficulties. Your combos will do less damage on him on Max difficulty than they will on Normal.

If you have Kobra, you can spam his F+2 in Shorin Ryu constantly on Onaga for an easy win, if you time it right. Darrius's F+2 in Shinto Ryu doesn't work as good though it seems, or maybe it's just me.

Naa you guys forgot one important thing about using certain people on onaga.


If you are playing with one of the weaker characters. you need to turtle your way out.

just keep your distance at all times.

With Kabal spam the U+2 in hookswords.

Baraka whore those blades.

Lui Kang is probobly the best character against onaga besides jade


Dairou can tutrtle very well against onaga so he does very well too.

usually the characters with thte best recovery time dude to the fact onaga has all close up power moves do the best.

Take the advice given so far when it comes to the characters without long ground combos: stay back, hit the kamidogu's, launch your most damaging combo, and duck to avoid the throw and punches. What works well against him with ALL characters is to sidestep him and nail him with the strongest 1, 1-2, or 1-2-3 combo within a style. You basically pick him apart that way. If you MUST beat him with weaker characters, then go ahead and playplayplay 'til you get the win. However, bear in mind that he gets angrier the longer you go on trying to win and comes on stronger with his attacks. If you duck a lot to avoid throws, he'll resort to many mid kicks that will go through your block. And if you kick him too much, he gets REALLY pissed and will do one-hit impales on your ass, just to show show who's boss. Personally, i don't bother with him anymore. But when i do i just use Jade to long combo him to death. If you want a guaranteed win, with a flawless or two in there, then use Baraka. Even on Max, Baraka will win EVERY time. Just take out your blades, do a Chop-Chop Blades, pause for a moment, then do a Heavy Damage (33211) combo. If you happen to be near a Kamidogu, hit it, then do 33211 for a little extra damage. But you won't even need it. CCBs-pause-HD, CCBs-pause-HD, 'til he begs you to stop. Or pops. Whichever comes first.

Who here can beat onaga with kang, double flawless and break no kamidogu?I can.

ok onaga is not hard how come people always say hes like moloch, hard as hell. well hes is very easy to beat he isnt that good hes very slow. ok if you are having trouble beating him first of all grab lure him to one of the kamidogus and get ready 2 pull off ur baddest and most critical combo. now run into the kamidogu and onaga will be at mercy for a few seconds. this is where you perfom your best combo. still need help? Liu Kang is very good to use when fighting onaga. just abuse onaga with your bicycle kick and you will have beaten him. also beating him with ermac is easy. ok if you are playing this game on the ps2 console then with ermac keep doing the energy blast thing(down, right, square) and then do the best axe attack that ermac has (hold back and press square). well hopefully this helps .



P.S.-REMEMBER TO DESTROY THE KAMIDOGU BEFORE ATTACKING HIM(well you dont have to but ya u know what i mean)

during the fight just asult him with all you got and each time you destroy the komidogu he gets weaker.

pick baraka and use chop chop blades i killed him in 7 seconds with that

onaga help plz

saldy im playing novice(still had for me) and onaga is killing me like if i was nothing. I killed him with jade,liu kang and noob smoke(took 7 tries till i throw my controller with the memory card in it. now the memory card is like half damage). How can i run away from him to get to kamidogu(and trying to escape his wing spread move at the same time_ i really want to be him with ermac,sub zero, and scorpion

This works for me:

Ermac: move back to be near a kamidogu, switch to 2nd stance, ...IN THE MEANTIME: keep your block on to avoid the wingflap, if he sends a fireball at ya then let off the block IMMEDIATELY and ss into a tele-bomb...if he jumps then IMMEDIATELY do a tele-bomb...when he comes ta git ya: break the kami, then hit him with 112cs, at this point you can ss (sidestep) and go at him with 13444, or backdash to the next nearset kami where you switch back to 2nd stance and wait again, and send hado at him whenever you feel you can get away with it...if you fuch up and you're left facing him without any kami's, then you're gonna havta fight him in close which means ABUSE 2nd stance 112cs and 3rd stance 13444 with IMMEDIATE ss's to avoid his attack (which is easy) and then again 112cs, 13444...in 1st stance use b+1,3, ssU (sidestep UP), 4, ssD (sidestep DOWN), 3, ssU, 22cs...2nd stance use 114, ssU, 112, ssD, 112cs...also: with all characters, go low on his dumb ass with the kicks YOU FEEL work best for you, thereby pickin him apart to the end.

Sub: move back to a kami, ss or duck fireballs, jump to avoid his jump, and keep your block up for the wingflap...when he comes to git ya, break kami and hit him with 124cs12cs, slight pause, poke him with 2 (this will hold him back), ss towards next kami, poke with 2, ss, poke, (if he comes close hit b+2, or 1b+1) til you get to the next kami and repeat...if you fuch up and have to fight without kami's, then ABUSE 1st stance 124cs12cs, ss (the ss is important, trust me), repeat, til you get him or he gets you.

Scorp: move back to a kami, block up for wingflap, NOW: i hope you mastered the hellfire, and if not, you will against Onaga...if he sends a fireball, ss DOWN and back press 2 to nail him with your own fire, THEN ss UP to do it again, this way you stay next to the kami and dish out some damage from afar...if he jumps you can hellfire him IMMEDIATELY if you're fast, or you can jump and then hit him with it...EVERY time he jumps or shoots a fireball equals DAMAGE to HIM, never you, keep that in mind so that it gets to the point where you're waiting and hoping for him to shoot and jump...when he comes ta git ya, break the kami and hit him with 22cs13cs or 223cs3cs, whichever you prefer, then poke at him with 1 in weapon (just like Sub's 2) as you make your way towards the next kami...if he's rushing you and you're panicked, attack with 22cs1333 because the kicks will push him back no matter what, then try to teleport to the other side and backdash to the center of the ring where you can hit him with hellfires...if you're out of kami's and he's still coming, then use the 22cs1333, or 22cs13cs, or 223cs3cs with ss's in between...you can also stay in 2nd stance and use 11333 over and over til your hands bleed since it pushes him back hit or miss, this will wear him (and you) down...mix it up with 11333, ss, 1133cs, ss, 224, cs, 22cs13cs, 1, ss + cs, 22cs1333...etc., you get the idea.

ps-Don't throw your controller dude. Just put it down calmly (the antithesis of anger) and walk away...get a drink, go for a bike ride, skip rope, do push-ups, sit-ups, fuch your girlfriend if ya got one, and THEN come back with a fresh mind to do what you have to against whatever character is frustrating you...it's gonna save you money and your own health. Remember that the anger and frustration are sending chemicals (cortisol the worst) through your system that are detrimental to the well being of your cells and organs...now tell me that there's ANYTHING out there (aside from people) that are worth dying a little over every time you engage in that activity. Make it fun and realize that losing is as much a part of the game as winning. It's gonna happen. It does to all of us. Just roll with it. Learn from it, and come back stronger.
