I've heard a lot of references to the certainty of UMK3. UMK3 was the game they wanted to release from the beginning, and so MK3 was just like a teaser for it. If you hear senor boon talk about Scorpion, you will sometimes here him mention that he loves scorpion and that is why he's been in every mortal kombat. He actually refers to scorpion being in every MK during the G4TV Icons about mortal kombat, which I found interesting. However, I don't know when that clip came from.

Personally I like to think they wanted to try something different, like change up the characters, (something that fighting games traditionally do not do). It was kind of nice when he was gone since he was never a very good character to use.

I like Scorpion as a character, but as far him being in every mk just cause hes Ed Boons favorite character is just unfair.

scorpion was meant to be in MK3 but he got lost on the thruway and couldnt get there in time.

Your Obviously playing the Genesis version of MK3, and your rumor is BUNK!!!!!!!!!! Buy a webcam, snap a shot of you doing this on your tv, post it, then you can blab about this ridiculous rumor.

But anyway, to be serious, I don't know why they would just up and leave scorpion out of MK3, but if they actually wanted to leave him out of the series completely, they could have actually said that his soul was at rest, until the fans DEMANDED that he come back after a long abscence. Cyrax was definitely supposed to be the cyber Scorpion. From the net to the teleport to the color and the ninja type suit, you could just tell that was their intentions. Hell, the first thing that the net reminded me of when I was playing MK3 ten years ago when I was 10 or 11 and still reminds me of today was scorpions spear and that it was supposed to just be scorpion, despite them not going that route. One last thing, I had to check the profile for Cyrax just to make sure that it was a whole different character from Scorpion. Anyone else do the same thing back in the day?

He's also a fan favorite along with Sub Zero and if neither of them were in a future MK game it would be the biggest complaint they would hear.

Sub-Zero and Scorpion are MK...i agree if either of these two were ever left out ..it would only hurt MK's success!!
But not to worry im 100% positive that they will bring both of them back.
