Why the N64 version of MKT deserves more respect
Another long post ahead. I think people should be used to it by now. Anyway.
While the PSX does have more backgrounds and characters, among other things, it's also got some flaws, which the N64 version doesn't have. The pros of the N64 version are significantly overlooked, and I'd like to change that.
Let's start with the finishers. Perhaps the most important pro of the N64 version. Many of the finishers in the PSX version are either downright bad, or half-assed. Here are some examples.
Baraka's impale: The PSX version of it has absolutely no blood. It ends too quickly. The N64 version's, however, is much closer to the original. The opponent actually bleeds and suffers before going through the blades.
Noob Saibot's bounce: Bounces off the floor more times than he does in the PSX version and at a far quicker pace, which makes it all the more hilarious. Sadly everyone has the same male scream, even the women.
Human Smoke's stretching fatality: longer in the N64 version, and more brutal, albeit in a cartoony way.
Ermac's animality: The opponent doesn't scream when eaten whole, which actually adds to the animality imo.
Noob Saibot's animality: in the n64 version, the opponent screams when they are vacuumed up, which makes it funnier.
The friendships of Noob Saibot and Human Smoke: in the N64 version, Shao Kahn says "that was pathetic" after Noob fails to get all the pins. In HS's friendship, when the "no smoking" sign lands, he says "aw man" or at least sounds bummed.
The subway: when the opponent lands on the other side, he/she gets up, dazed, and moves a bit. In the PSX version, the opponent is completely still before getting hit by the train, which looks lame. Not the most important detail I know, but still a nice touch imo.
There are other things the n64 version has the PSX one doesn't, but the finishers were the one difference I wanted to focus on for now. Both versions are great ultimately though.

Better because of fatalities?....To me,that sounds like a fanboy comment and nothing else, the only advantage i see over the PSX version is the loading times,PSX version is closest to the arcade while the N64 version has butchered gameplay....or different than the arcade.
Elaborate better....To me the important thing is the fighting not stupid fatalities.

Wow, would everybody calm down here? Instead of attacking each other, take a breather, the games are over 10 years old, no need to blow gaskets over them.
reptile88's arguments are just as valid as the rest, as he is one of the higher-level players and knows what he is talking about.
With that being said, I agree with him with regards to the original poster's comments. Just because the game has better-looking Fatalities does not mean it deserves more respect. It is a tiny aspect to the whole game, and should not be considered when the most important part of any MK is the actual fighting.
And yes, I checked the link, it's for a thread on MKO. If you got a virus, it did not come from that link.

Okay, I think everyone is missing the point I tried to make in my original post. I feel there is no comparison to any MK arcade game when talking about Trilogy. If you guys are high level players then surely you know that UMK3 arcade is way ahead of Trilogy. So that's my point. Its not a fair comparison, especially since Trilogy was never an arcade game. The only fair comparisons are between PSX, N64 and Saturn. Apparently that pissed off reptile88. And for that, I'm sorry if it offended you. I enjoy all versions of Trilogy, but if we are going to compare, then why not say fuck Trilogy and just go with UMK3 arcade? That's all. No reason to shit a frisbee over it.

Thanks Jerrod, but i never said im a high level player, said i play the games for the fighting not the fatalities,im far far away from people like Check,Lex or KungBroken,im an average player who still learns everyday the technical aspects of fighting games, but i really enjoy fighting against my firends to a vast majority of fighting games, not just MK.
