You know, I LOVE Mortal Kombat. But I have never actually played MK : Gold because I ,like most people on the planet, never owned a Dreamcast.

So, I'm assuming he was either a fan character or, at very least, a secret character, but I know nothing about him. Does he even have a story? I mean, seriously, I hear people talk about Jataaka more than Belokk. But It's still enough to irritate me that I know so little.

Belokk was supposed to be in MK Gold, but Midway scrapped him for good,he was created by Eurocom. There are a couple of screenshots of him that were leaked by mistake when Eurocom sent a version of the game to Gameinformer.

Belokk was a character developed by Eurocom - the same company that have ported MK4 to home systems. But they didn't have the time to finish him. Ed Boon said so and that was the official reason why he didn't make it to the game. The second (unofficial) reason was that Midway simply didn't like him. As for the story, he was suppose to be one of the Oni demons.

Belokk was originally intended for MKG and was one of those dropped characters that the MK team didn't like, he was developed by Eurocom. Before he was scrapped Eurocom sent screenshots with him in it to GameInformer. And like everything else, fans made him a secret character. They decided his icon to be the Tanya glitch where her alt costume box was always a question mark. Although it was also rumored that in the end Tanya replaced Belokk, she didn't. Here is his original character:

Belokk was scrapped because Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat, said that he did not like the character, as it wasn't created by the MK designers. Countless new character designs are scrapped prior to a game's finalization. This particular character's design was accidentally released by Eurocom, who helped produce Mortal Kombat Gold.

His character was also made too powerful and unoriginal. His move set copied that of other fighters in the game.

He looked like a cool character, maybe they could remake him and put him in MK8.

They probably won't, he was too powerful and unoriginal as said in my last post.

Goro was powerful and unoriginal, and Boon kept him. At least I think Goro was powerful and unoriginal.

But how, if they couldn't do it with John Tobias what makes you think Midway could make any character immprovements without him
