I know that MKII was released on several systmes, but I remember some advertisements that the game was either released, or supposed to be released on certain other systems. Was MKII ever released on the Sega 32X-CD not the cartridge based 32X, the CD32X? A CD version on Sega CD32X of MKII? Also, I remember seeing that it was also supposed to be released on the old 3DO system, and on a duo disc on Saturn with MK1 on the same CD? Was these games ever released on these systems? A game retailer said he has had MK1&MKII for Saturn come through his store a few times on one CD for the Saturn, and I am on the waiting list for it if it comes back. Does anyone know though?

No, Mortal Kombat 2 was never released on 3DO or Sega CD, but it was released on Sega 32X, Sega Saturn, Sega Genesis,Super Nintendo, Sony Playstation(Japan only), Gameboy, Sega Master System, Amiga, and Game Gear. Mortal Kombat Duo was released on Sega Saturn and Gameboy in limited quantities. The Sega Saturn version of it was both Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 on one disc. The Gameboy version was the first two Mortal Kombat's on Gameboy on one cartridge.

That's what I thought. Perhaps the 3DO was never released, but I am looking at an old Gaming Magazine ad for it right now. It was probably discontinued, or very limited release. About the Sega CD32X which was the CD version of the 32X system, not just plain Sega CD, or plain Sega 32X. There were very games released for the Sega CD32X too. One I do remember was Corpse Killer. Thanks for the input.

Intresting, I didnt realize the MK1&2 duo came out to the saturn. I can tell you that it came out for gameboy and the PC. Its pretty damn rare on the PC, saw it on ebay twice and I got it the first time I saw it for a pretty penny. (Pretty penny=$70) Being complete and never opened is worth it to a collector though.

GameFAQs doesn't have a listing for MKDuo for the Saturn, but it DOES have one for the Gameboy version. And get this: according to them, it has a way for you to play AS Smoke in MK2. Here's the code:

At the title screen press Up, Up, Left, Right, A, B, A, B, Up, Down, Up (Play as Smoke (MK2))

Dunno if it actually works or not. Once I get a decent computer of my own, I'll probably download a rom of it and playtest it.

Yeah the Smoke code is fake, I tried it once just to make sure it was fake and it was.

I'm pretty confident there hasn't been a 3do or cd32x release. Also I do not believe there is an offical Saturn 1/2 maybe a bootleg. I have seen 1 and 2 included together on a bootleg cart which had a bunch of games on it.

Official MK2 releases to my knowledge
mk2 t-unit
genesis
32x
sms
gamegear
saturn
snes
gameboy 1/2 and 2
PC 2 and 1/2
Amiga
xbox ps2 and gamecube of course.

I don't think I've missed anything.

Mortal Kombat 2 was announced for 3DO with a scheduled Fall of 1994 release but was never released. I don't think they even went that far with any other MK games for 3DO.

Corpse Killer, Night Trap, Slam City, Supreme Warrior, and Fahrenheit are the only games I have heard of to come out for the 32X CD. (THey should never have made 32X carts, it was a waste).

Back in 95ish...I saw a PSX MKII case on a rack behind the counter at the Wiz in Holmdel NJ, I didn't want it, but I saw it. I don't know why it was there. Whenever it was, it was around the same time MK3 for PSX came out, I played some kids on the demo they had, it was only like Shang Tsung and Kano playable, in any event I destroyed them all muha..

Yeah unfortunately I wasn't looking at MK from a nostalgic point of of view yet, and I really didn't care for MK2 anymore now that MK3 had come out. I have a magazine that talks about MK3 on 3DO, and shows pictures from other ports of it, but it never came out.

I see. Back in those days I was more excited about MK3's release and sort've left MK2 behind.
Couple of years ago I was reading a thick 200-page MK3 strategy guide that said "Arcade/3D0" in a bookstore. To me, the looks of 3D0, the graphics seemed much smoother and the powerbars were longer- atleast that was how I saw it as a kid. But then, the pics are in b/w so that must of made it seem more smooth.
